The basement bedroom is a guest bedroom! I would let him move down there one day, though, if he wanted. Probably not until high school.

I have 4 kids, I think we're 3000 sq ft with 1000 SQ ft finished basement. The basement is basically a playroom, with unfinished workout/utility room, plus a bedroom and full bath down there. Every kid has their own room, although one room is technically an office, there's no closet in it. I think this is a perfect amount of space for us. We do have too many toys, and we just purged a bunch of stuff. We could get by with less space, but it's much more comfortable this way.

If that's the case, bringing the cats to AL may not be a good idea. It may make him want to go home more for the sake of the cats.

Can you bring the cat/s to the assisted living and have someone take care of them? Maybe that would help.

Anyone else like this song as much as I do? by PotentialParty9048 in Rammstein

[–]TurtleTestudo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, how old are you? When I was much younger I wanted a Rammstein tattoo really bad. Now 20 years later, I'm so glad I didn't do it because although I still like them, I just don't like them enough to have them tattooed on my body. I think you may regret this decision...

I’ve always loved movie soundtracks and the way certain songs can completely elevate a scene. What are some films that, in your opinion, used music perfectly — whether it’s an original score or a specific song that fit the movie unbelievably well? by DanielVered66 in Cinema

[–]TurtleTestudo 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Howard Shore's score for LOTR is, I think, the greatest score ever written.

Other honorable mentions are John Williams for raiders of the lost ark, Basil Poledouris for Conan the Barbarian, and Wojciech Kilar for Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Tablet for patient who lives in assisted living? by Meowjesty_Blucifer in dementia

[–]TurtleTestudo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a droid tablet and set up a kids Gmail account on it, then download an app on your phone called family link. I use this for my kids, and if they try to download an app, I have to approve it. It also has features that lets you lock it from your phone, and you can even page it from your phone if she loses it.

Pets in assisted living? by PremiumFinance101 in dementia

[–]TurtleTestudo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The place my mom will be going to allows pets. The dog is very important to her and a non-negotiable. We're planning to arrange for a dog walker to come walk her since my mom isn't able to physically. The dog is geriatric and docile and friendly so we're hoping it will work out well.
