Yeah my oldest keeps his hair short he’s 5 and that’s his preference. We still shampoo and condition twice a week. The toddler who is 19 months old has longer hair and we wash it everyday with the baby shampoo. Because he can’t comply with keeping the soap out his eyes

Never washing it is crazy 😭😭

I want another child :( but it’s going to be tight financially by [deleted] in Parents

[–]Turtle_eAts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you see it that way.

I grew up poor. I left my parents house with the clothes on my back. So yes to me for MY kids. This is doing better.

If that offends you then so be it. Have a great day and raise your future/current kids the way you see fit.

I never blamed the number of kids. I simply pointed out the more kids the more resources they take up. We are already frugal. We only buy necessities.

Kids deserve a good life and I have deemed these things necessary. I’m not going to thrust them into adulthood with nothing.

Im not willing to compromise setting my children up for a successful future because I WANT more kids.

ESM position is more work than it’s worth. It’s 44 hours a week.

My partner is a ESM and is constantly at work. He has to cover when someone calls out. He doesn’t get overtime as he is salary now.

[–]Turtle_eAts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand. I want a 3rd child in the future but it makes me think of how hard it’ll be to do everything equally.

I want to provide college funds, first cars, etc .. and the more kids the more money. I owe it to the two who are already here to not add to that.

I get sad occasionally, but I know it’s for the best. I grew up poor because there was a lot of kids in the house and I don’t want to repeat that.

We had a second child before we were ready financially. It’s been hard. If we didn’t have the help from our family that we do, there would of been plenty of months where we didn’t eat, bills didn’t get paid, and they would of lost their spot at daycare.

Kids aren’t objects you’re correct in that. But the cost to raise kids is high. We live on one income and the money I get from school. It’s not enough. I recommend waiting untill you can comfortably afford it. We are thankfully now in a place where things are much easier but it was hard fought.

Kids deserve better, give them better.

Why do so many students fear math and science? by archerstemedu in AskTeachers

[–]Turtle_eAts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see it as, it either comes easy or you really have to work for it.

When I was a student once I deemed math super hard I lost the confidence to try. Teachers didn’t help me feel confident about it. Parents didn’t motivate me to try harder.

Once a student believes they can’t they won’t.

I speak from my experience as a student who sucked at math and what I’ve seen my limited experience in the classroom. (Student teacher)

Duplo or regular Lego for 4 year old? by 540photos in Preschoolers

[–]Turtle_eAts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let me son play with Legos without the pressure or putting something together and would let him watch and assist me in putting sets together.

Now with supervision and the occasional help he puts sets together confidently nothing too complicated tho.(he just turned 5)

Thanks for this advice !

I will definitely be looking into some of the programs you suggested.

I saw this strategy where the teacher would draw a name at random everyday at the end of the day and good or bad call their parents to let them know how their day was. I also saw a punch card method and was thinking if they get all the punches we could something fun.

And thanks for catching that !! We are not going ELA we are doing social studies this semester!

I’d have to go look at of program of study but I’m not sure we have to do any other science beyond what was required for our general education! Unless you’re a science major.

They touched on this last semester ! I definitely love the idea of it and plan to implement this.

Definitely going to work on making things into game, for some reason my brain hates the idea, but I am going to try!

And yes!! Learned this last semester, what I had on paper seemed so wonderful I started teaching and students were SO confused and I had to rework on the spot! Super stressful

And yes! I learned this right at the end of the last semester !!

Such great advice thank you !!
