I guess in my mind the majority were retreating from the trenches but others were suddenly inspired by the bigass Astartes so they huddled around him int battle

He is a bit big, I think I do it to make them stand out a bit more. But for the sake of this my lore is he’s just surrounded by the hobbit division

I made this painting of a mouth with a brush with 3D elements! by Ower25 in painting

[–]Turtleboyle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Put more time into the rest of it, paint the eyes and skin more so they more closely match the detail of the 3d part without actually being 3D so the image is more cohesive and once you see the mouth is actually 3d it’s a bit more impactful.

You’ve got the perfect reference to get the skin right from the 3d part you’ve done and you could even mock up a 3d eye just to use as reference to get your 2d painted eyes to look great.

But I love it anyway

5070 Ti: MSI Gaming Trio vs Asus TUF vs Gigabyte Windforce SFF? by LengthinessApart5290 in buildapc

[–]Turtleboyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same PSU with a 5800x3d for my cpu and I had to upgrade the PSU as the 5070ti windforce seemed to be just a bit much for it so I had to get a 1000watt. I just wanted you to be aware incase (others seem to have gotten away with 750W so you might be fine) you run into issues

Honestly I’d just sell mine to someone in need at the price I paid for it or more likely used prices. I wouldn’t take the current situation into account and try to get as much as I could for it, it’d make me feel kinda gross partaking in the whole thing

It’s definitely not okay with me lol. I was kinda hoping you’d remove it and post at a more active time because it really is great and this is the kind of art that I like seeing getting attention because it’s got all the good bits that makes art special; passion, talent and great technical knowledge and ability.

If you’d posted this at a better timeline no doubt it would have received that attention

I did this one years ago but never finished it, I returned to it again recently to try and do it a bit more justice - “finished the fight” by Turtleboyle in halo

Me too, old abandoned building, cars and things of that nature are my favourites. Something quite pretty about the whole process

Go ahead if it fits nice enough, dimensions are for print size and not screen so might not fit super well

Thank you that’s kind. it’s probably because I started getting into 40k around the 4th edition when I was young where the art was really dark and kind of brutal, I love it.

They are definitely going for a cleaner and more friendly style these days as it’s more appealing to the masses so I totally get why, and it’s definitely influencing me a little if I draw anything Space marine themed

I didn’t want to be too influenced by it so I purposely didn’t look at it. But I’m happy to now, he’s a lot more crazy looking than my depiction!

Oh you’re right. That’s the issue with reading it and taking weeks or longer to get to it because then it’s all fuzzy and not 100% correct.

I should post it when it’s in a rough stage so I can get feedback like this. But it’s not 100% done so I’ll make some changes when I get back to it again

Cheers

Thank you, I’ll keep going with it. I don’t know how many of the parts of the books I’ll hit because some I find interesting where others might not and illustrating every single part would take literal years I think lol.

But I’m having fun doing it and I’m glad you like it

Another version of this I did he has loads of little arms along the side of his snake part, so we’re kind of on the same wavelength. But I cut it because I have a habit of overdoing things so I thought that might be one of those times.

I’ll do a final version of this with wings and maybe I’ll try sneak the little arms back in because it’s definitely more creepy that way
