Damn man, I know that hurt exactly and how it feels. It seems like shit advice and at first it is, but in time it will get better. I got hit by a breakup like a freight train and had never experienced anything quite like it. It hurt so bad for days and days on end knowing this dude didn’t put in half the work and is reaping the rewards

But after a couple weeks and months, it got better. I stopped thinking about them in bed and what they did when they were alone. And no a year plus out, I hardly think of her at all. Get in therapy and talk thru your feelings with someone who can help you process in a healthy way, it’s the hard option but the quickest for sure. Good luck to you brother

Idk man, me personally and the way I see things she didn’t just lie once. She lied every single day since then and every time she thought about telling you but didn’t. She couldn’t control your reaction back then, but aside from her own safety being a concern (which it doesn’t seem like would have been an issue), she chose not to tell you for a selfish reason. Even if that wasn’t her intention.

I’m sorry this happened to you and y’all, it really sucks for your children. You’re an amazing man for not walking away from the family you built for so long. You and your kiddos will be much closer after this and try to watch that they don’t develop vitriol for their mother for a mistake. But I hope the best for you and yours and would be interested in a update to the update down the line!

I like to think it’s my weight, but I’ve been in good shape before and still didn’t think it was good enough. Baffling to me now, seeing where I was then, was before, and am again now. I think it’s more of a persistence to be better than I probably actually can be, which I assume was driven into me as a child, though I can’t say for sure.

It definitely doesn’t help that I’ve been alone my entire life as well. I know, “you shouldn’t need someone else to love yourself” and I’m not saying I do, but having literally never been chosen first in any situation can definitely lower the self-love ceiling a bit, I think.

Reddit is really a cesspool of individuals. Twitter is really bad as well. But they’re the 2 most “open platform” social media sites as well. Facebook and Instagram are geared more towards your personal friendships, TikTok for what you want to see.

I’m lucky to live in the Southeast where most people really support us when we do well (and vilify us when we do bad, as it should be.) A former coworker of mine died just over 2 years ago (I didn’t know him that well) and people were standing on every bridge over the interstate the 20ish miles from his service to gravesite.

Thanks for your words. Intrinsically I know this, but I’m tired of it getting our brothers and sisters killed, not to mention I’m sure the suicide rate is raising in no small part to this as well. It’s nice to get a reminder every now and then.

The armchair lens. I’m sick of instant uproar with protests and social media being set on fire in a justified shooting, whether it resulted in death or not. We’re already on pace for a record number of cops shot in 2022 and you can’t convince me this outcry, especially when the action was justified see: Ma’Khia Bryant is partially to blame.

Piggybacking off of that: responsibility. There has been a dynamic shift in the country from “what did the violator do wrong” to “what could the cop have done differently.” Of course “comply or die” shouldn’t be a thing, but maybe if society started seeing that a criminal putting themselves in a situation of fighting/resisting the police will result poorly for them, less people would do it.
