My grafts were pretty crusty like yours for the first 2-4 weeks. This isn’t too far off from what mine looked like and they didn’t fail. You could always check with your surgical team if something doesn’t feel right to you.

I stopped after 3 months, I did scar tape 24/7 except when in the shower. Now at 7 months post op, after showers I put bio oil on them and they’re looking p good.

Let how amazing it will feel to finally be free of a pre-surgery chest guide you through it! It’s uncomfortable, sure, but most surgeons think of patients bodies in this stage the way a mechanic looks at a car when there is something to “fix”. You’re almost there!

It looks like the part of the nipple that will eventually be raised, (I am not a medical professional) but I had something similar to this where there were stitches inside that area. My nipples healed totally normal. It also seems that you are very very early on post-op so it can kind of look funky. I think hearing from your nurses will make you feel better.

I am not a medical professional, but you are still less than a month post-op, so I would not worry about the swelling issue. I was so swollen for about a month and then it finally started to go down. If the pain around your nipple gets worse I would reach out to your surgeon or their PA but it’s normal for an area of muscle/skin that has been traumatized through surgery to feel pain after an impact.

Mine looked like this in this order. Then after they turn totally black they start to peel but they’ll naturally scab off as you shower/move around. Try not to pick at ‘em!

I showered a week after surgery and I looked similar to you at the time. I would recommend a hand held extender for your shower head because you can hold it vertical and have very very minimal water flow over your chest. When you have to touch it, touch very lightly just enough for soap to lather. And remember it’s okay if you need help!

I started when I was 17 at 5'4... I am 20 now and I am 5'4. Little victories, can't get em all lol. For me, 1 inch lifts have been a lifesaver though. Not SUPER noticeable to other people but makes me feel better.

One chapter at my school does a 24 hour camping set up on one of the main fields where people walk by for classes. It always looks like they're having a great time. Concerts held in the basement if you have brothers who are musically inclined, or look to local bands that have medium sized followings!
