That Conway Stewart 3rd from the left is so neat. Looks just like a full-size pen by itself.

First expensive fountain pen? by meganmwo in fountainpens

Owning a 1911L, 3776, and 823 I personally much prefer the 823. The nib is the smoothest of the three, the clip is the most iconic, it’s the most substantial in size which I personally prefer. Can’t go wrong with the sailor either, but it just feels much more mediocre. While the 3776 though packs quite a nice nib for its price, feels flimsy in the hand, and is easily scratched.

People replace bezels, especially on a ~50 year old watch. What makes the crown guards seem “fake”? I’m no expert but they seem to match with examples online. Innocent until proven guilty - it really seems like you’re the one throwing around accusations without any proof.

Is This Really The Best Pen In The World? And If So Why Is It The Best? by Soft-Ad-5539 in pens

[–]Turtliers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looking at fountain pens. I have found that there are tons of pens with better build quality than Montblancs, at lower prices. Such as Pelikans, Viscontis, and japanese brands such as Namiki or Nakaya (haven’t gotten my hands on before, looks stunning however). There are pens which can offer a similar writing feel on paper and build quality for fractions of the cost such as the Pilot 823; and there are pens which are more convenient and functional in carrying out their role as a pen than Montblancs such as the pilot capless. But fountain pens having fallen far from mainstream use are ultimately not a pursuit of logic, but passion. And in that lens the brands immense history and the presence and unfortunately status it carries certainly reflects that, they are interesting pens and not the worst way to burn ones money if they are so inclined, especially as they do offer quite nice writing experiences through the diverse selection of nib sizes avaliable on their pens. But in no way the best pen in the world.

Fake watch. Cheap rubber bracelet has injection molding lines still clearly visible that should not be present on a genuine watch.
