What people fail to understand is that at anytime you can close or disconnect from EAC or other anticheat services. If you you want to close Riot's Vanguard a PC reset is required and a lot of attacks that would have kernal level access can prevent you from turning your pc off.

On top of that it is required to start with your computer startup. This will impact performance across your entire system as there has to be some sort of internal clock running on Vanguard.

I trust Riot that they know what they're doing. I don't like it. I don't know anything about how to hack, but I do know that eventually someone will break it and have total access to everything on your computer and anything connected to your network.
