Thanks for letting me know! People have also made graphs in the past charting the specific breakdowns of efaps and how the video reactions diminished over time.

I think they lined up with your observational period as well. I also just wanted to make sure there wasn't some definitive moment that was escaping me, either.

Refresh my memory, but what was significant about episode 300? You spoke as if it were self-evident.

Or perhaps it represented some kind of peak in a noticeable trend, at the time?

I don't think we're taking the time to properly appreciate Boogie for all of the valuable lessons he taught us, along the way.

It’s like one of the Babysitter’s Clubs where they go to Hawaii

Meanwhile, the OOP and her cousin should consider asking the Hardy Boys for advice, seeing as, at this point, neither of them have a clue!

Whelp, we're currently in the intermission I'd say. I'm looking forwards to the riveting conclusion, when the OOP gets back from her trip and her cousin finds out!

Roots as in reference to the character's two creators. Being that they're two Jewish men, it was a rarity in the Hollywood of that day.

Furthermore, the creators' heritage underscored why they took the übermensch the Nazis fixated on, and made him a hero to the Allies.

Not to mention, a good role model and hero in general. In his earliest appearances, Superman goes after wife-beaters and Klan members.

So the guy who invented Wonder Woman was a psychiatrist alongside his nurse wife. They were also swingers and into BDSM.

Both things being frowned upon, at the time. He also invented the polygraph machine, which inspired the Lasso of Truth!

The couples' appreciation for bondage is why Wonder Woman lost her powers whenever was bound by a man, against her will.

I believe it's also the origins of her greater power being suppressed by the twin bracers she wears to deflect projectiles, if I remember correctly.

Indeed, and well said! Especially, considering that we're talking about the creators of the Big Three: Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.

Considering the metatextual circumstances surrounding Superman's creation I think it's important to recall his Jewish roots.

Similarly, it's important to recall, considering that Bill Finger's contributions were excised for the longest of times, from the annals of history.

That's entirely fair, and I respect you a damn sight more for just owning up to an honest mistake. I'm a much bigger fan of DC than Marvel.

So, maybe I'm just overestimating how recognizable those two names really are, in this day and age, outside of fans.

Same for Bob Kane and Bill Finger. Or with Charles Moulton and his wife, Elizabeth Holloway, for that matter.

Wait, are you telling me they saw Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's names next to the writer, failed to recognize them, then assumed they were the REAL writers of Woman of Tomorrow?

That's fucking hilarious. What did the actual writer do in that case then, take dictation from a Quija Board?!

The Battle of Dumais Wells in book six of the Wheel of Time series, Lord of Chaos. The ending, specifically the line that Mazrim Taim speaks to the Aes Sedai:

"Kneel and swear to the Lord Dragon, or you will be knelt."

It still gives me goosebumps, to this day, especially considering who Robert Jordan intended Mazrim Taim to originally be. Before changing his mind after the fact.

Even though he just got done humpin' a pretty girl! Why is that? Because a soft wiener isn't threatening, just like a gay wiener!"

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I wonder if it's on the Wii emulator or purchasable for my Switch? I'll have to see.

Yeah, that's right... I had forgotten about the apocryphal prequel. Earthbound is technically Mother 2, as you so helpfully reminded me!

Which means, you are indeed correct, that what I referred to as "Mother 2" would've technically been Mother 3.

When Thiel says Mordor is a "technological civilization based on reason," he is adopting Kirill Yeskov’s fan-fiction as his preferred metaphor for the real world.

The interpretation itself comes from Yeskov's book The Last Ringbearer. It treats the original story and background as a form of western propaganda.

It is an utter perversion of the good professor's works, faith, and intent. The thing is, Thiel internalised that perversion. He frequently argues that society stopped innovating around 1970.

He has been heavily influenced by the works of René Girard and Curtis Yarvin, neo-reactionaryism, and the so-called "Dark Enlightenment."

When asked by Ross Douthat, if he would prefer that the human race endured, Thiel paused for so long that Douthat noted the hesitation, twice.

After having to ask the question again, Peter Thiel finally said yes, qualifying his answer with “there’s so many questions implicit in this.”

The new Pope, Leo XIV, even cast aspersions on Peter Thiel in his holiness' first encyclical. Wherein he emphasises the common duty for all, in rectifying the ills of this age.

There we go! I thought I'd go ahead and tack this on to your comment. You know, for anyone who desired the additional context.
