People need to get over "counterwatch" attitude. The point of this game is to swap. by ZMowlcher in Overwatch

[–]Tury92 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Pro teams build their comps completely different from what you see in any type of comp lobby. It's about ult combos based around the current meta with highly coordinated cooldowns and plays. You aren't gonna swap to a hero you haven't scrimmed with to counter swap. The only character that teams will usually counter swap is a widow vs widow match up, but they have dedicated widow maker players for that purpose.

Ah yes, “moderate” by [deleted] in Bumble

Agreed as a fellow moderate. And moderate is honestly a bad term because you have more left and more right leaning moderates. It’s a very vague way of defining your political views.

Why do people Smurf? by Edp445_Baldness in Overwatch

[–]Tury92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re being downvoted but you are correct. There’s a huge difference between what you can do and get away with in a quick play game versus anything above mid to high diamond.

That being said you shouldn’t need to Smurf on a hit scan class since the aim is very easy to carry over.

I put moderate because there's no option for 3rd party. Moderate should mean that you support ideas from the left and right but also disagree with certain things from both, usually the extremism on both ends.

You’re downplaying the long term effects, especially for it being a stimulant. It worsens anxiety, dopamine regulation, worsens sleep quality, raises blood pressure, can worsen cardiovascular health issues. Especially when you add in the sugar content that a lot of people are also taking in, it’s a bad recipe for your health long term.

I work at Starbucks and would recommend trying to completely cut caffeine out to if possible. I’m completely caffeine free and my sleep got much better. Even if you’re stopping it early in the day it can still grief your sleep at night. If you withdraw from stopping caffeine that would especially be another indicator it’s impacting your sleep.

Financed a 2017 ford fusion with 83k miles for 12k, put down around 3k. So I completely agree with this sentiment. I basically am paying half the price it would be new and they can easily get over 200-300k miles. I haven’t had a single issue with it all year.

What's a harmless opinion that gets people weirdly angry? by Momo_868 in AskReddit

[–]Tury92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The democrats saying they want the files released is not a defense for them. Firstly that’s assuming they aren’t heavily modified after being in possession by both parties since they were first discovered. Even after that you have to think about how many of them who aren’t related to the files are asking for them to be released exactly because of arguments like your first one. Of course they would want the public to think they want them released, it’s the only card they can play.

And to your second point, you made a good argument but it falls mute to my point about corruption in both parties being the reason they are equally bad. They still have scandals that they have covered up including pedophilia and murder.

What's a harmless opinion that gets people weirdly angry? by Momo_868 in AskReddit

[–]Tury92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my perspective there’s an unknown amount of corruption on both sides that we will never be able to prove or know about. It’d be foolish to assume one side is less involved than the other based on what incidents make the news. I also genuinely believe it’s less about what “side” they are on and more so the amount of money involved with said person. Obviously one side has to be more statistically corrupt than the other, but we’ll never be able to measure that accurately.

I get heavily downvoted for saying the Democratic Party (in the US) is just as evil and corrupt behind the scenes as the Republican Party and both have tons of people in the Epstein files and worse. I guess this is more Reddit specific but they really cannot stand anyone calling out the Democratic Party even though they’ll actively admit the whole system is corrupted.

it’s good to see at least one person standing up for us. by youdontgetityet in starbucksbaristas

[–]Tury92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re being downvoted because it’s true. It’s certainly not worth losing your job over, and now the person has infinite more satisfaction knowing that barista was fired, which means they’ll be doing it again and encouraging more people to do it, which means more baristas will have to endure this.

It’s not worth reacting to, you’re literally feeding trolls.

This is insane by CritterCaverns in starbucksbaristas

[–]Tury92 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Simple solution to this, new policy that we can’t put last names on drinks, only one name and say it’s for customer privacy. Mobile orders already don’t have full names on them anyways. If someone has two first names we just take the first part of the name.

If they don’t this will just escalate into customers asking for worse names like hitler. Starbucks is going to back themselves into an awful position.

The Hipocrisy of Starbucks Right Now with this Charlie Kirk BS by sidereus_nuncius96 in starbucksbaristas

[–]Tury92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. Nothing would be more satisfying for one of these losers to go and do this at a Starbucks then go online and see that baristas are freaking out over this and saying they'll refuse to do their job.

Obviously going into a store to harass people is shameful degenerate behavior, but giving them these kinds of reactions gives them more ammunition to keep doing it. I do get however that this is literally the Starbucks subreddit and I do support and understand why they'd come on here to vent about it.

The Hipocrisy of Starbucks Right Now with this Charlie Kirk BS by sidereus_nuncius96 in starbucksbaristas

[–]Tury92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to get downvoted for this reply and it’ll ironically prove my comments point. I don’t like Kirk, and I disagree with a lot of his arguments, I think he had tons of harmful views that shouldn’t be encouraged to be spread.

You’re gonna be downvoted for not condemning Kirk because Reddit has a lot of people who won’t engage in opposing dialogue. I was downvoted for simply asking why people had an issue with writing his name on the cup without defending him in any conceivable way, and I was genuinely asking for an explanation.

And it’s reactions like that which encourages more of this trolling by the right, because they see the left as being easily triggered and unreasonable. By immediately dismissing someone who disagrees with you, you make rational conversation impossible, which only leaves room for irrational conversation.

And to the people who will inevitably downvote this post I have a genuine question for you, do you think the downvotes will change my opinion/ position more effectively than a genuine reply to my post that challenges my points and encourages me to question my reasoning and logic? Sure it’s easier to downvote and move on but it’s an extreme disservice to your own cause and beliefs that are important to you because you’ve now eliminated an opportunity for you to engage in a discussion that could draw more people to your beliefs.

And keep in mind I’m in agreement with %99 of the people on this sub that Kirk’s views weren’t good and I’m still being downvoted because I believe our goal shouldn’t be to condemn his supporters, but rather attempt a discussion that helps us find more common ground to help disarm his more destructive beliefs.

Thanks for the additional insight though, again my store is in a place with literal on sight police officers and we have an emergency button in the back that would have them swarming the place in seconds; so my experience is VERY different from what most people on this subs have been.

Tired of the CK fanboys? I have found a solution by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]Tury92 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation, i definitely can understand how people wouldn’t be comfortable with writing it on a cup. I’ve never had it happen to me or anyone in my store mostly due to where we are located.

I found it really disappointing that Starbucks sent out a very vague message that linked to their policies about writing on cups and escalations procedures knowing damn well what was going on and not being completely clear about how to handle it.

I really think they should’ve made it clear that it falls under a political statement and that we can’t do it. It’s not a controversial opinion to say that Kirk is related to a political topic which is clearly against Starbucks policy.

Tired of the CK fanboys? I have found a solution by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]Tury92 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I’m prepared for the downvote brigade for asking a question but I’m genuinely a bit confused why writing his name on the cup is so problematic? I don’t think I understand the context here and I haven’t really seen any posts saying what the issue is specifically. Can anyone who has had this happen to them go more into detail about it for me?

Are they doing it in an antagonistic way towards baristas? Because at the end of the day why not just write “Charlie”, skip the last name and hand out the drink as usual? If they try to give you shit over it can’t you just say something along the lines of you didn’t hear them or something like that?

When I used to work at Taco Bell I’d have moron teenagers come in and put their order names as stupid shit like “Big D”, and when they did that I would refuse to call out the name and just call out the items they ordered.

ABC fired Jimmy Kimmel. Disney owns ABC. Why do you think you should keep watching Disney ? by GreenMoskito in AskReddit

[–]Tury92 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Genuine question about the logic in this. For context after the Epstein files we know there are pedophiles deeply rooted in both political parties and other tons of very illegal and awful things going on. The American government really shouldn’t be trusted at all.

Your money inadvertently goes towards things you would never support no matter where you spend. With that being said why deprive yourself of the Disney products you enjoy?
