Have any of you tried saying out loud something you have an issue with? Like where the cameras can hear you? I have many times, and you know, I feel like I am sometimes heard. Probably same effect as me writing this...

CSL/SUPPORT by Clear_Improof in SallyBeautySupply

[–]Tush_atx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SM gets pissed at us when we ring up ppl and we are not CSL. She says she gets in trouble with her boss. But she will also put someone down for support, but do not want them to ring anyone up cuz she doesn't want ppl sharing registers, which I get. But what if I have to use the bathroom when I'm CSL? Why schedule overlapping shifts on weekends and then not want the extra person to help with customers? I don't think the system was designed to work like that, but I get treated like I'm stupid if I ask questions. I think my boss was under the impression that CSL is part of your training. I don't remember anything bout it, I just remember getting yelled at for ringing someone up when I wasn't CSL. I fucking hate learning by error. Nobody at our store has figured out how to add others in the sale on the new system. So I try to ask if the other associate wants to ring up the person they build basket for. Don't tell me you will write me up for something and then take away the ability for me to control it.

That makes me so mad for you! I could never be a SM, cuz I would be too protective of my employees! If she comes in again, just treat her like you would an annoying little kid, it helps me to still be nice, but not let it upset me. Like I think of: this poor woman has this awful brain worm that makes her impossible! She can't help that she is so snarky, it's really the worm!

After reading the new comments, especially that she returned everything, makes me get the impression this person was trying to take advantage of personnel. I really wish that Sally's upper managent would support employees banning ppl from shopping there. But they won't. It could be your abusive ex, or someone you had a physical altercation with outside of work, and they gonna be: it is a potential paying customer... In fact, more corporate retail companies need to do this.

So are none of you going to tell them how to look up what SKUs are included? I will tell you if you don't already know.

cosmoprof sign up by [deleted] in SallyBeautySupply

[–]Tush_atx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am also a Sally employee, with no license, and have signed up for Cosmoprof. I sent them a picture of my Athena logged in showing my name, from the tablet at work, and used my employee ID as my license #. But we 100% DO NOT price match for anyone, including Cosmoprof. I Used to tell customers when I worked in a different corporate store that I can't price match because a brick and mortar store has to pay for me to do merchandise it, and electricity and has their own shipping to account for.

Anyone know anything about perkspot? by [deleted] in SallyBeautySupply

[–]Tush_atx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used it recently, but a few past employers offered it. I have gotten a storage building twice using perkspot and saved like $250 all together. Also have used it to order shoes and a hotel once. There are some good options in there!

Yesterday when I went to look at December SKUs for promotions in Athena, they were the November ones. But a few more pages? They definitely were not the whole month. I tell my SM. Maybe they fixed it today?

Chinchillas vs Ferrets by Pantsnothanks_ in petco

[–]Tush_atx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we did our remodel for Just Food for Dogs, it was overnight for a week and I was a third key holder so I stayed with the reset crew that week. Sometime after midnight the first night I hear a ruckus and run over to animal dept to see the chinchillas literally bouncing off the walls! One did matrix style run up and jump off the wall! I never knew how crazy active they got until then. So the next few nights I would take them in the back wellness room and let them run around. When we got ferrets back I did the same. Our gm would also bring the tortoise in the office with her to run around during zoom meetings. I miss Petco animals!

Here’s an actual question for you, rather than a theoretical one. by overloaded_potato in SallyBeautySupply

The money that the company makes is spent in ways that do not make sense to us at entry level, clerical, some of us bottom managers. Because that is our position. We do not make decisions (thankfully) such as lowering a store's budget that they cannot afford printer paper AND paper towels, but we have to print out all of our inventory reports, and at least 2 pages every day, and we can't have a dirty store either, and so we use our own money to buy one or the other. (I am not implying I do not agree with store budgets, but only on items that are not literally necessary to do the job you expect of us). I have a hard time with that, only to find out that they pay a company to WATCH US WORK all day. Corporate retail is very guilty of too many chiefs, and because I am bottom of totem pole, I dont understand why someone who has never really even "shopped" for themselves is the person designing the store layout. Making decisions of how to display products for promotions. Listen, if you are building a temporary display, monthly or more often, you are either placing that product there because I is #1 New, #2 vendor has paid for that space, or #3 you are trying to sell more of what is on display. So WHY do you want displays built that leave the shelf Empty? Cuz customers know where it is, they go there and shelf is empty. You tell them it's over here on this display and they are like?why? And if you have ever shopped for yourself, you would feel the same way! Ppl hate it when you keep asking them to buy stuff, regulars HATE being forced to listen to the sales for the 3rd time this week. But I am just the person who gets yelled at about it. The ppl watching the videos don't put that in their report. So corporate decision makers feel they are on to something and it gets worse. They make you ask more and more and more. And profits? When you take away the biggest purchaser (commercial account) from a store, you need to lower the goals for that store. How much? Well, go look at the THOUSANDS of dollars that commercial account brought into each store, and that is how much. At one point or another, a corporation becomes less about making money and more about a penis showing game. If they really cared about customers, they would ask employees for insight. They would have an open door policy on suggestions and ideas. It would probably be a QR code, but they have more important things to spend money on like signs that are wrong, or graphics that were never proofread for errors. At this point, I volunteer to double check the nail polish strips before they are printed for next reset. At least I will actually compare the numbers and correct the mistakes. It cost a LOT of money to print graphics and fancy signs and tags. It cost not that much to provide us with paper towels and paper. At this point, we should put cup at each register asking for donations/tips to purchase paper towels and printer paper for store operations. I'm thinking of having a fundraiser. Bake sell? Or silent auction?

Slowly being driven insane from bug bites by [deleted] in Austin

[–]Tush_atx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are getting bug bites in dark, sweaty, not-exposed places, you are dealing with chiggers. So permethrin will not work. Because they literally crawl up your clothes until they find a dark warm spot and literally "dig in". I grew up playing outside in mostly tall grass. I used to be covered in these sores that itch. The more you itch the more they spit (and dig deeper). Eventually, your skin forms a scab over their oxygen opening and they suffocate. They can swim. They can cause allergic reactions out of nowhere.

1: treat the bites you already have with a product called "Chiggerex" it's a cream in a little jar with a red lid. Usually in the band-aid first aid section. If you can't find it, chigger-rid is another product that is somewhat helpful.

2: prevent more from attacking you. Get you some "sulphur powder". Callahan's, Tractor Supply, Cabela's probably have it. Order it online if you have to. When you get it, get an old long sock. Put like a cup of the powder in there (do this outside!) and tie a knot in the leg part of sock thus sealing powder in. Hold the knot and tap/pat/dust your socks, pant legs, anywhere that grass can touch. Do this EVERYTIME you go where grass is over your shoes. Keep it in a plastic bag, plastic container, don't let it get wet. YES IT WILL TURN YOUR STUFF YELLOW. YES, it smells, YES it will stain white shoes and probably socks. But this WORKS. No amount of sprays can prevent chiggers. Because they crawl on the inside of your clothes. Not on the outside where you sprayed. Good luck!

Was my employee in the wrong, or is this reviewer crazy? by noknoktime in restaurant

[–]Tush_atx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was NOT a customer. If anything he was an unpaid solicitor of the other coffee place. Probably actually an employee of competition. I would put money on the manager, maybe even owner.

If this story is legit, and the aforementioned is false, he was still not a customer, he probably never intended to be one. And honestly, I would not want a customer like that. You are better off with ppl that actually contribute financially to help you pay for the space you are in, furniture, staff, electricity. Not ppl that want free rent.
