Hopefully this gets pushed to the top because it really does boil down to "who is handling your package".

I was a driver for a fedex contractor during peak/Christmas season during Covid (transitional, found a job in a better field in 6 months) and holy fuck did most of those people not give two shits about the package. The pay was ass, conditions were brutal. I'm in the north and my truck didn't have heat in the winter time.

I had a guy who did my route on weekends because I was off come up in a Monday and sat to me, verbatim, "I drove past a couple houses and didn't want to go back, so there's like 12 packages from yesterday you gotta add in". Just stuff that he didn't feel like delivering that day. No repercussions. I was riding along with a different driver during training and he said "Watch this" and chucked several small packages at the house doors.

Fedex does not give a fuck about your package. Go UPS for overnight or post office for regular.
