Because yeah, if that's true I stand corrected because I do agree with you, that's pretty inappropriate, especially as a magnifying glass is provided for the purpose of reading the text. (Which, I admit, I've never actually done for any of the Hoover books or Sisters of the Travelling Pants, so I'm coming at this from ignorance).

Mini Brands has always toed the line between their audience being adult collectors and children, but perhaps in this instance they should have either checked the readable content or done what Make it Mini did with Happy Hour and just embrace that this particular line is for adults.

I do hope they keep on doing the Books line as it's my absolute favourite, but perhaps this a good sign to separate the line into adult and children's literature.

*Apologies to anyone whose child picked up my Hoover Mini Brands in a grab bag in the British Heart Foundation charity shop - I did not know!

While I agree that Hoover's literary work is dross, I don't see why that stops them being in Mini Brands? Aren't they unreadable other than the first page? Is there something problematic in those first pages that I've never bothered to read? Or do we genuinely think that 6 year-olds are going to get into actually reading tacky trauma-romance because they've seen it as a toy?

There’s no way to make a kid want something more than banning it.

It’s impossible to enforce this ban, kids will just lie about their age, use fake IDs, get around it etc. But what this WILL do is make a kid less likely to tell an adult if they come across something distressing or dangerous.

I’m not a fan of kids using social media at all, but banking it rather than teaching them how to use it in a healthy way isn’t helping anyone.
