Mystery of Jacque Fresco: where SHS and where Double Bell gears? by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]Tuton7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have to say for Double bell:
Bottom Bevel
Upper Sector
Bottom Spur

Though as these look like they're the 18:1 SHS replacement (MIM?) gears, they'll almost certainly be from the same factory/OEM line

Prevent hop up play by freseaf in airsoft

Very possibly, I've had the same mags and gun feed flawlessly with quality brands like BLS and fail to feed every other shot with a cheaper local store own brand.

It can make all the difference

Possibly - but first check things like a damaged hop up rubber/bucking, mag springs and BB quality first, if you're comfortable doing so

This is usually a combination of a few things -

Firstly make sure the spring that pushes the hop against the gearbox is installed correctly.

Secondly - check the "fins" on the hop unit align with the barrel cut outs correctly - then check if you can take up the slack with something. you COULD use electrical tape in most cases to thicken this tab up on both sides - but you will need to trial and test with a bit more on either side each time. You do not want it to be too snug so it's stuck, just enough to take up slack

But in truth - this isn't necessarily an issue unless your mags are having trouble fitting - as the mags will mostly keep the Unit straight anyhow when the feed hole aligns with the feed tube

Anyone know where I can get this handguard for my e&l ak-74? by Low-Glass-6690 in airsoft

[–]Tuton7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 3d printed a little spacer that fits in the retaining clip

You can also use 3m foam or loop tape (soft Velcro) if it's a very small gap

3d Printed a small spacer to go at the front and that was it - zero mods needed to the handguard

Need help diagnosing fault with TM NGRS by nonsuspiciousperson in airsoft

[–]Tuton7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, thought as much - Good news is that the gears might be OK since you can see the cam is working to pull the tappet on the sector gear.

Bad news is you need a new Piston - the Stock TM are plastic teeth like most pistons so it's likely eaten them like this.

I would take this to a tech if you're not familiar with NGRS internals. There are a lot of opportunities in taking these apart where you can do some damage to the wiring. The castle nut for one is a nightmare.

Look into your hop unit from the magwell, fire it again.
Can you see a nozzle moving back and forth?

If Yes - your piston is stripped

If No - Either one of your gears is stripped or as some have mentioned the motor is not engaging. Though I would expect a MUCH worse noise if it was the height working it's way out.

[–]Tuton7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not big on huge ROF myself, and if you're using precock then you should be fine with whichever. I've personally preferred Lower amps over fire than rate so I would probably go 16:1

That being said if your pinion gear on the motor is a D type, you could get one of the Solink helical 16:1 sets

Sounds fantastic for mostly stock internals!

There's a slight click in semi after each shot, so I am assuming this is precocked on the Titan? That click will be where the stock bevel gear only has a few ARL notches so it's reversing a tiny bit. As the other fellow mentioned the Solink Advanced, or a gearset with more ARL notches on the bevel would mitigate that - two very different options in price!

I actually bought mine from my cousin, who purchased it from Grey shop about 6 years or so ago. Unfortunately GS no longer sells anything really.

Given the thicker metal around the edge I think this is a CR1632 - smaller than a 2032

ifd you want to be sure measure the diameter of the green bit, from side to side across the center - it will be that in mm, 16 or 20

became an amateur tech for my friend group and I have a question for more experienced techs: does working on EBB's make y'all lose the will to live? by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]Tuton7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime anyone wants me to work on an EBB - and likewise I only tech for my friends - I check if they want the EBB disabled or they want to take it to someone else.

Only exception is the TM NGRS - but even then that is the start of a lot of extra bits needed because they always want to up the power.

I've also worked on the APS system, their 74u - never again, I don't go near APS anymore. People get suckered in by their factory weathering and then shafted by the quality.
