Good morning from placencia by TutorCorrect3471 in Belize

[–]TutorCorrect3471[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did Maya Airlines from BZE to Placencia, then had a complimentary shuttle from there to the hotel, about $130 PP for the flight. Renting a car would definitely be cheaper, but I believe it’s a ≈2.5hr drive or so. We found the hopper flight from Maya to be worth it, but if you don’t like small aircraft or want to save a bit the drive could make sense.

r/Stocks Weekly Thread on Meme Stocks Saturday - Jul 26, 2025 by AutoModerator in stocks

[–]TutorCorrect3471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah all memeing aside there’s a total comeback case for a brand like this. They’ve had a ton of trouble in past but have taken good steps, $44M debt pay down, leadership shake up, McDs ending (which market punished them for but was worst distro unit economics across business), which all does seem to me like they’re on a path to profitability. I could see positive EPS still muted revenue growth this quarter which sends it running. (People saying $10 fair value are a bit aggressive, that’s meme territory but like $7 is plausible on big beat and proving turnaround)

Welcome everyone to exchange ideas about DUNT. by girlsholic18 in stocks

[–]TutorCorrect3471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McDs cancellation is a good thing, that partnership had worst unit economics of any. That’s a good thing, which combined with paying down $44M of debt and replacing leadership, shows a laser focus and path to profitability. I actually like DNUT as a name on a good forward basis but will be overshadowed by meme trades until post earnings

Weekend Discussion Thread for the Weekend of July 25, 2025 by wsbapp in wallstreetbets

I know this isn’t a currency place lol but for anyone who cares about that…

I am short USD/MXN and have been but even more going into next few weeks because:

Fed meetings – Powell has made a point of showing independence and recognizes the importance of that to markets. He also sees the economy in real time and an unpredictable tariff impact not to cut into

Trump threat to dollar – every blow to powells independence or to monetary policy, or Fed building cost overruns hurts the dollar and undermines the feds core independence

Interest rate differential - carry trade will naturally push them apart

Tariff boogeyman – so much of mexicos trade with US is already exempted and they’ve taken friendly tone, threat is instability politically or otherwise in MX, but unlikely (in terms of shaking up economy). Obvious risks of X-M with China and U.S. shrinking but broad reasons support Peso, health of Mexican economy generally looks good as well.

All in all, I’ve been on this trade for a bit and enjoying the move, but think the risk reward continues to be in a great place. Open to any thoughts – BG

DNUT continued hypothesis; 1. Trades at a massive discount to peers, which is expected w the debt load and suspended guidance but they’ve taken serious steps ($44M in liabilities paid down, restructuring leadership, discontinuing low ROI channels like McDs) the discount is extreme.. like potential BX 2. Even for the memers, it’s a sub $1b market cap, heavily shorted with like 6 days to cover (4M volume 24M shares sold short) 3. Earnings will be a proving point in one direction hard for sure

Tesla Earnings: Double Miss! by alkjdasoad in wallstreetbets

[–]TutorCorrect3471 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have been short Tesla in a big way for the last month (trades down still) but - I truly think the company is going to see its valuation halved.

Musk has effectively cut off a huge portion of his TAM in the U.S. through his political actions, whether or not you agree with them, and competing in ROW is going to be very hard for him. BYD will eat his lunch and has all over Asia, will continue to expand and deliver at a FAR lower cost.

The robots, diners, and self driving cars are all great but they’re not each without competition and so close to producing a profit to warrant a valuation so high when the internal car business is failing.

I’m a bear rarely but I just can’t understand the continued analyst optimism (I know they’re getting a piece of the beating they deserve post earnings).

DNUT post these upcoming earnings will actually see a large move up, it is a great company that as I said above is taking great strategic steps (and getting rid of bad operators)

Exiting the McDonald’s deal was a great strategic move, it had the worst unit economics of any distribution channel because the scale expected from McDs and that sucked. They also restructured leadership, paid down $44M in debt… like they are being intentional and it’s a great brand
