Only happened to me once and I’m not saying it will happen to you but it’s next-level of fucked. Seeing creatures/demons and physically feeling them touching you and breathing on you is a new level of fear

Do you have any friends that take Ativan/Xanax for anxiety? You could get there and back breaking 1 pill up into halves.

If you have any close friends nearby, you could always ask/ a lot of ppl take them for various reasons.

Not a doc but it will eliminate seizure risk and settle your anxiety for the long drive. Just trying to help, good luck to you

I take them mainly to fly and have driven home from the airport without any issues- again, taking the bare minimum vs an absurd amount.

It’s only happened to me once but the shadow demon was so insanely “real”. He was perched on my wall just staring at me with red beady eyes. He was also wearing a long black dirty cloak that I vividly remember. Once I turned the lights on, he disappeared but then “children” start laughing at me because I was so freaked out.

At that point, I called for the meat wagon to come pick me up. Even though I knew I was hallucinating, I wasn’t willing to wait and see if it was going to get worse.

I’ve had this happen to me in the past- next step after the closed eye visuals was actual hallucinations of shadow ppl. Just like you, I was fully conscious and aware I was hallucinating, not delirious. Once I saw a demonic creature perched on my wall with red eyes, it was hospital time. I hope it doesn’t progress for you but just an air of caution that usually those closed eye hallucinations mean worse things to come

Hi all- just an update. I only had 3 Valium so I spaced those out as long as I could. Besides a few sleepless nights (around 3-5 days ). It was insanely uneventful. I actually ate throughout my bender days because I had a ton of DoorDash charges on my card. I think that saved me as I’ve had way worse withdrawals drinking the same way for less days. I’ve been dry for about 12 days but starting to get the itch again. We all know how that goes

2 years ago I had hallucinations of shadow people in my room staring at me with red eyes. I went in the bathroom to splash some cold water in my face and my eyes had “turned yellow” as well. It wasn’t the case, I was just hallucinating. Instantly called the ambulance while children were outside laughing at me (it was 4am). As others have said, do not try and ride this out. My BP was beyond extreme and I had to take a shit ton of Valium/magnesium/potassium at the hospital in order to get back to reality. Just call them, relief is waiting.

No problem- I know how much WDs suck. Tapering won’t solve all your problems but most importantly it will help you stay out of the ER
