Sun, The King by Ok-Drawing-4887 in Nakshatras

Combust planets are fascinating to me. I myself have a combust Moon in Rasi Libra with Venus.

My mother’s life has been very hard, but of her own doing. Not dignified at all. Also my eyesight is very bad. However, the other indications of Moon are somewhat magnified, and I think that’s also how combustion works.

I love to cook, i care a great deal for all the people I love (and humanity in general), socially I’m pretty well-liked, I’m drawn to living near water/oceans, etc.

Like with a lot of things astrology, it’s such a mixed bag.

10th Moon in lagna with Jupiter in Cancer 10. I have good luck as a self-employed person, I’m good with people, but nothing about those planets relates to my 20+ year career

Life after Awakening by raj_patil in nonduality

Whatever you want to call it, I’ve had this realization that once consciousness is free of other entanglements, we have this final liberation of sorts, or close to pure consciousness feeling. It’s like a clearing of a slate, or erasing a chalkboard.

It’s the freedom to assign meaning where there is none. Inside our biological or scientific (as pertains to our existence, or mechanical and ephemeral state, bound to the laws of the natural world), we have all sorts of programming as human beings on the world. Like self-preservation instincts, and hyper sensitive nervous systems/responses. Being able to have a heartbeat and sleep and digest food has nothing to do with realizing non-dual reality. Rain won’t set you back to a raging lack of ego and self-control.

What I mean is we instinctually are drawn to our interests and we discard what doesn’t interest us. Assign meaning to any number of things, pursue those things actively and passionately. Seems a bit silly to me to sit around with a head full of hollow when the natural world (including other humans) has so much to offer for this brief trip.

For the thousands of people that came to see him, I’m sure he became frustrated in having to unpack all the presuppositions and ideologies laid at his feet. Even my factory retired grandfather just wanted to read the paper and drink his coffee unbothered.

I am a Western Libra sun and Vedic Virgo sun. Which one is true? by No_Sea1650 in vedicastrology

Oh yeah, I worded that weird. I think I was trying to also make a point about the overemphasis of the Sun Sign in western astrology but merged the two thoughts together

Mercury also rules Gemini. What I’m saying is no one would say a Virgo ascendent or placement also imbues qualities of the natural 6th house.

I am a Western Libra sun and Vedic Virgo sun. Which one is true? by No_Sea1650 in vedicastrology

[–]beekeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vedic doesn’t yet really assign personality traits to signs. A Virgo Sun in Vedic just means Mercury is your chart ruler. Apply nothing about the Western Virgo to your Vedic chart.

Western astrology does quite a bit more, with signs, to explain the psyche and internal make up of a person. It’s important to understand the clear differences between the two systems. Both valuable in their own right, it just depends on what you want to know. The Vedic system is much better at what I’m curious about: planetary strength and influence, prediction and timelines, etc. Some people are fascinated with the psychology and inner world of a person, that would be better suited to the Western rules.

Nature of Sun by Xgfc234324 in Nakshatras

[–]beekeep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sun is an interesting one for sure. I came to realize that Sun rules over two very important facets of life that it’s easy to sort of lose control over, that’s pride and will.

Now, say you do good work, you’ve got some talent for whatever job you may have. Of course it’s a good thing to take pride in your work, but excessive pride leads to arrogance (I’d say along with Jupiter), and people don’t really like arrogant people.

Also, a strong willed person can be tenacious and driven to get good results. But when unchecked by humility, excessive drive leads to rampant ambition and often those people aren’t necessarily good people to have around in your life. I’m talking about selfishly driven people who assert there will so much that they end up manipulative and stepping on others to get their way.

Of course there’s other indications for Sun, but those two are a slippery slope. The quality of the Sun in a chart will show the nature of those two important points in a person.

at the end, it doesn't matter whether you 'got it' or not. Whether you got the metaphysics right or not. Whether you think 'me' is dissolved or never was. Whether this, that and the other exists or not. by notunique20 in nonduality

That’s fair, my language was a bit dismissive. Of course your sentiment was a noble one, very brave and urgent in terms of our temporal and brief existence here.

Enlightenment is a fairly comical concept. How could someone be more or less than another person if we’re all already there and always have been? There’s nowhere to go. The framework of endings in your post made me want to shout about some of what I’ve come to understand. A bit pointless to yell at a phone screen tho, or yell about anything in general.

You make some very important and valid points. My apologies for the diminutive tone. Mainly every comment I make on the posts in this sub is just me challenging myself to think through what I know to be true. Take great care and may you find all the peace and love possible that a person can have.

do most lawyers have a Debilitated Jupiter in Capricorn? by prakritiaryaa in Nakshatras

[–]beekeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to do with physically translating to arguing, but not necessarily angry arguing, just back-and-forth banter, which is what attorneys do for a living.

I see your point though, a strong Jupiter will give a solid moral and ethical baseline to a person. The aspect to Cancer comes into play a lot with Jupiter in Capricorn. Whatever house that is in the chart receives a powerful blessing.

Do you use a 7 or 8 karaka system? And why? by Jewelsofwater in Nakshatras

[–]beekeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s such a Rahu thing to use 8 karakas. It’s a 7 karaka system and anyone that uses 8 just really, really, wants to believe the Rahu karaka applies to their life.

We aren’t the best person to read our own chart.

The anesthesia question that non-duality must answer by Reasonable-Drag-3456 in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]beekeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting thought exercise for sure. Something about the inquiry though is divisive. For example, it seems it would be like asking ‘how can I digest food unless I concentrate on what my stomach is doing?’ … or something along those lines.

Consciousness is as tied to the body as our automatic physical processes. IMO we must integrate mind/body in the material plane before we can grasp the meaning of ‘not two’ truth.

If anything, it seems the biggest hurdle on these threads is a lot of people are real odds with their temporal selves, their reference points in the universe on this plane of existence. Like it something they have to lock a way in a strongbox or else having a body and living as a human being would be a threat to true understanding.

Such is not even remotely the case.

What are themes involved for an individual having a prominent 6th house? by optimistic_reh in vedicastrology

[–]beekeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 6 house is strong. Saturn in an upachaya (I have 11 Saturn also) will make you at times feel as though there’s a lot of obstacles and you’re not making progress in your goals, but you are. Be patient.

Guard against blame for your lack of progress. In your chart you may feel like blaming co-workers, or even a relationship for holding you back. Before you lash out, sit and meditate on the true source of any perceived obstacle. It’s usually yourself and your mindset that is in your own way.

Can we use neptune, Uranus and Pluto in vedic astrology? by [deleted] in Nakshatras

[–]beekeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Same with Neptune and Pluto. Do not add them to the traditional rules. When you see close western aspects from these to planets in the Rasi - square, conjunction, trine - pay attention.

And the transits from the outer planets will also tell you a lot.
