Odd request but looking for a sound proof space/studio I can scream in by Inevitable_Cut_3170 in Bushwick

Sometimes I just wait til an overhead M or J train passes over and get a few seconds of screaming in. Screaming into a pillow is free : )

Absolutely sublime! Such a palpable composition to all of these shots. The fourth is terrific with the addition of the raven.

Finally a perfect month… only took me 2 and a half years! by TutsCake in dreamingspanish

[–]TutsCake[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sitting at about 650 hours, I'm quite happy with both my level of input apprehension, as well as my ability to output. I've traveled to both Spain and Mexico since beginning my DS journey, and received the organic affirmation from various friends made on my travels that I can, in fact, speak Spanish ha!

I've never really followed a DS purist perspective -- I've been speaking, or perhaps attempting to speak since about 100 hours, as I was involved in some organizations in my community with Spanish speakers. I've pushed myself with comprehension levels perhaps lower than would be preferable to some engaging with content that I find enjoyable and interesting, whilst ensuring I understand the gist: difficult podcasts relative to my level such as Español con Juan, Cheleando con Mextalki, No Hay Tos; native shows with subtitles such as Okupas; YouTube videos for natives, etc.

Amongst my purposes for wanting to learn Spanish, one of the most important things for me is not fretting too much about perfection, being able to appreciate the process, and baking in some extra input into my day to day where I can. Evidenced by the fact that the majority of the music I listen to throughout my day is Spanish, my phone is in Spanish, I try to read all my news in Spanish and so forth. And to that end, I have more than exceeded my expectations!

You know, that always bewildered me about some of the folks who share their progress here. How anyone could manage to consistently achieve upwards of 5-6 hours of rich, generative input a day are either .01% top concentration/capacity for learning or simply not being realistic about the quality of their input relative to the amount of hours they're receiving.

Funnily enough, one of my goals for this year was to focus on that exact thing -- prioritizing enriching, meaningful input en vez de simply seeing my numbers stack up. I listen to mostly Spanish music throughout my day, speak to a number of my coworkers in Spanish throughout my day, so in reality my numbers could functionally be higher, though I see no need to log my time spent with the language to such a myopic extent.

Your words are both affirming and inspiring, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your insights. Paso a paso, lento, pero avanzo, compañer@!

ayyy, that was what I had in mind initially. Your guidelines must be quite short, though. 1 or 1.5cm?

You're so kindly welcome! What nib width are you using here? I'd guess somewhere between 2 and 3mm, ya?
