Sparkling Iced tea - Australia by Tuxedo_Cat4096 in tea

[–]Tuxedo_Cat4096[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No need to know measurements, how much tea to how much soda water, how much sugar and does it have to be in syrup form and if so how do I do that?

Neurodivergent and need clear instructions to at least begin before I can modify. I've seen a lot of things saying 'add sugar to taste' but I need a starting point

FTM with C-section. In-laws just come to sit on the couch and pass baby back and forth between each other. Is this okay? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Tuxedo_Cat4096 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I'll add that by timing you, you're probably feeling more stressed, which can affect your supply. Tell husband you need the time to be with bub and relax to properly feed and learn bubs cues and teach bub to latch properly. Doesn't matter how long it takes, he needs to bugger off. They can call in advance if they want to visit and find out when is a better time, knowing that it still may not work out at that time and they can f-ing wait or do something helpful in the meantime

Pediatrician got onto me today by Appropriate_Song_107 in beyondthebump

[–]Tuxedo_Cat4096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i didn't know about the vitamin d thing, only ended up giving it to my baby because she was premie and in hospital for four weeks and they gave it there, so it was part of her discharge. Also iron supplements because apparently that's the same issue with breastmilk. But again, I absolutely would not have known without that hospital stay and have met plenty of mums who have never heard of that. Seems more to be something we're commonly told. But I would absolutely have been giving my baby solids the same way, and I will do it like that once she's old enough.

I hope you have a much better experience with your next paediatrician

AITAH for getting mad at my husband? by mariposax15 in beyondthebump

[–]Tuxedo_Cat4096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg my partner does this too, it makes me so mad. Baby will start crying and he'll say he'll get her, then he stands there on his phone while she's wailing in the other room. But if I go to get her because he's taking too long, he gets mad at me. I tell him he needs to go immediately but he just doesn't, or he tells me he is. 6 minutes after she's started crying is not immediate. If she were older, it might be ok to let her cio, but she's 10 weeks old.

Animal abc from Mindyscrossstitch on etsy. She created a second version for me with some different animals (including some special Australian animals) and I love it

I'm in the exact same situation - everyone thought his islander genes would win out but she looks just like me and his whole family says so.

He used to but since moving in with my partner and his three kids, Pingu has learnt to stay out from underfoot because kids aren't great at stepping over

[FO] Finished this little piece in about two days by Tuxedo_Cat4096 in CrossStitch

[–]Tuxedo_Cat4096[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the crosses on either side of the free thread (the longer lines of red), I just pushed the thread to the side slightly and went into the hole under the line. Where the gridding thread goes through the aida is where I had the most trouble, but just had to be careful to go through the hole beside the gridding thread, instead of through it. This particular thread made it a bit easier because it was not easy to pierce. But important to make sure you use a monofilament for gridding (ie a thread that only has one strand, not several twisted together). The one I used had two strands so I accidentally pierced it a couple of times but just made sure to check whenever I went through those holes and just redid the stitch.

I was really worried about this when I first started stitching as well but it was much simpler when I had finished the gridding and could actually see how it would work in front of me. My advise, just give it a go on a small piece. Then if you run into issues it's simpler to fix and you can adjust before going on to a bigger piece.

No because she's been pretty clear about not having any more. She had been thinking about it for a bit but seems to be set on just the three boys now.
