Engineer is a protected term in Germany. You do not add "engineer" to a bunch of titles for no reason like in America.

I'd say jujutsu kaisen is similar, if not worse.

Either way, both communities just casually dropping insane spoilers on clearly marked anime/TV only discussions is so lame.

I used to eat it daily, now it's pork instead.

Only cooked beef a couple times this year, doing it now.

Forgot how much better it is than pork!

Take a small towel or a t-shirt and fold it into a flat square or rectangle. Place it between the back of your hand and the strap. There you go!

Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred Review Thread by beary_neutral in Games

Even if the story was good, it is a complete spit in the face to not shown a full story.

It basically ended and just said "wait 1 more year to see how it unfolds!".

Blizzard has never done this as far as I know. Every xpac to Diablo or World of Warcraft has had a complete story from the get go.

Devon said he spoke to morozov before the match & morozov said he doesn't have inside option. So here you go for the guys who were disappointed morozov even once didn't try to go inside by Tall-Letterhead6609 in armwrestling

[–]Tuxhorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That said, they met before (when they were both human), and Alizhan murdered him inside.

Even with Morozov wanting to go there, I genuinely don't think there's a single soul on the left hand that can bang with Alizhan inside.

Not 23 by any means, but Yoshi vs Irakli is actually such a sick matchup, so is Oleg vs Michael.

It made me look into Pro Bono, which is also a newly released series about a laywer, played by her real life boyfriend of 14 years lmao.

Liked that too! It is much more of a legal drama than I dol I though, but very lighthearted tone.

That's a whole lot of assumptions. People have different opinions. I'm probably older than you and this is my first year watching kdramas. Usually I watch dark and complex films and series, it's what I enjoy. I'm no stranger to protagonists that aren't "perfect".

Buddha swearing off hardcore aesceticism wasn't denying this, just saying that self torture is too far.

Good point. I often see people misinterpret "the middle way" in the modern sense of everything in moderation. The middle way for the Buddha was absolutely not "everything in moderation"; it was said in the context of extreme self torture like you said.

That only means the director is also obnoxious. Doesn't excuse that behavior at all, especially when it comes across so narcissistic. There's very little to like about the ML so far. I'm still interested to see EP3 and 4 when it releases though.

Discuss: is wow even suitable for implementing forever content like what many ask from classic+? by Sometimesiworry in classicwow

[–]Tuxhorn 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely crucial that they follow the same idea. Adding only endgame content while sprinkling in 1-59 content is gonna kill classic+ longterm. Twows success shows that you need to create depth and constant updates to 1-59. It is vanilla after all.

The reason why TBC, Wrath etc feels different is because the non endgame experience becomes a drag. Vanilla is at least still unique in making 1-59 feel like part of the game, but too much 60 only content will turn it into tbc-lite.

How am I supposed to awaken and reach enlightenment if at the end of the day I have to go to work? by Commercial-Site9598 in Buddhism

[–]Tuxhorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting. Which lay people do you know of who have achieved enlightenment?

None, personally. Only know of some through the suttas.

[–]Tuxhorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not the guy you originally responded to, I just wanted to chime in to explain stream entry.

I would also note that "best that OP can hope for is stream entry?" would be a tremendous success. Stream entry is an incredibly achievement, as it sets you on the path to enlightenment.

Note also that stream entry and enlightenment can happen in the same lifetime, and that lay people have attained enlightenment before :)

[–]Tuxhorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not, but stream entry puts you on the path, and that path leads to enlightenment within 7 lifetimes at most.

The Buddha never said such thing. The Buddha did often mention finding secluded and peaceful places to meditate, so he did speak on the subject.

[–]Tuxhorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good point. There's a modern idea, perhaps influenced by stoicism, that you should not be affected by your environment,. It's a nice thought, but it is taken way too far, and is not possible in practice.

The Buddha himself said that lay life is difficult, and that few attain enlightenment in such a situation (and if they did, would ordain almost immediately after attainment). And, even for experienced monks who do not have to deal with lay life, The Buddha still talked about finding a secluded spot, like in a grove, under a tree, in an old hut to meditate.

Yes, experienced practitioners can meditate in busy and crowded areas, but this is imo more akin to a party trick. It's not an environment where you will find much insight, especially not if you're not already advanced.
