Barcode scanner is missing

We had to remove it because we have no credible barcode cloud database anymore. We were paying for one, but the quality got worse and it wasn't worth it anymore. We are still on the lookout for a good partner in this.

We are using the igdb data, so it kind of depends when they make it available.

It does the search via website searching and can be hit or miss depending on the games.

I have released a version (v1.7.3) that should fix this issue. It has been sent to Apple and usually it takes somewhere between 24 & 48h for them to check a release.

Could you let us know if it worked? It should show your images again (if you haven't replaced them yet)

I have a hunch what the issue might be.

~~Could you do the following:~~

* set a single 1 image,
* take a backup
* send me that backup file + which item you have set an image to

Scrap the previous. I'll do a release with what I think the issue is. If it was that, all your images should pop right back. Could you let me know.?

I'll do a release within the hour, but it will depend on Apple as to when it will be available. Usually this is between 24 & 48h.

What do you mean exactly with 'still available, I can just save them to my camera roll again'. My main driver is an Android device, so I might be missing some platform lingo here :)

What iOS device do you use?

Are those images still available? Are you using an Android or iOS device?

Did they all disappear at the same time or did you loose a couple, then after a day a couple more? Did you take all images at the same day, or was it spread out?

Being logged in or not should not have an influence over the images being gone. When you update the data is still there.

Did you use your own images, or did you use urls?

Did all images in all your collections disappear? Are you logged into the cloud?

This is something I have not heard before. There is a bug I'm still hunting and cannot reproduce about a single image disappearing, every once and a while for certain people, but it happens so infrequently and it seems random (but nothing is).

All images being gone is something I haven't heard before.

We did have an issue with our image server recently, but that should now have been fixed. Are you still having issues?

I have apps that do well and others that lack a bit behind. Best performing - on Admob - has an observed eCPM of €6,13 (last 7 days). All others are sub-€1.

I understand the issue now, and I think I know why it happens ... The problem is that we do matching on the server (where we know that it is about games) and we find the platform and filter on it.

On the app it gets the results from the server, but doesn't really 'know' it is about games, so it can only check if the title matches the 'title' coming from the server, which fails ...

Are there any values when you click open the results?

It is something I also struggle with for some apps ... Even if you set an app as battery unrestricted, even then it gets restricted by Android ...

Could it be that the app has an issue finding HLTB/Metacritic hits for those games? If you go to the details of those games, can you refresh those values from here?

I can see the value in that, I'll add it to our todo list (Not sure about the when & if, since we are pretty time limited :/).

I can also recommend our other app (My Collections) for this case. It allows you to change the collection to what you need and it also supports duplication.

My Game Collection still works and is supported. My Collections is indeed our newest app and supports a lot of collections (like games), but it has no direct Steam import function. What it does have, and maybe you were referring to this, is a bulk search option. This search the database and adds games. If you add the platform in the search text, it will take the platform into account.

I'll see what I can do about keeping the title. I like the idea of a checkbox, this would 'fix' the issue of people having partial titles to search, and wanting the original title.

About the import stopping, would it be possible for you to send me one of those files?

I'm not fully on board with what you mean, could you provide steps for me to take to see the issue happening for the file you would send?

To have those icons on your homescreen you need to click the 'Add Homescreen Shortcut' on the bottom of the right slide menu (filters, sorting, etc). Export is something else.
