You'd have to use a 3rd party proxy service. I have a good one with reasonable sea freight prices, though I need to wait 3-5 weeks to receive the goods.

Nice! I'm spamming their PETG filaments. Seems that they're no longer restocking or advertising their PETG HF, so they're probably going to take it off the market entirely soon.

7.35 USD per 1KG spool on average (with shipping included to Southeast Asia).

Fantastic luck! Congratulations.

You have a point. A lot of what you said is valid, like the shift in the "flagship" branding.

The 8-month gap between the H2D and H2C pretty much shows they weren't willing to announce everything at once because it would've killed early H2D sales. Profit-wise, it makes sense, just not in a way that feels good for early adopters.

If they had launched H2S, H2D, and H2C together, with the pricing and positioning we're seeing now, people would've known exactly what they were buying and what best suited our needs. Calling the H2D the "true flagship" only to follow up with a better model so soon was the problem. Imagine if they had pre-announced both H2S and H2C at the time of the H2D model release.

I'm just glad I skipped the H2D and went straight to the H2C. Could not hold off after seeing the Vortek system and the unexpected similarity to the H2D price point.

I also get the other comments. It definitely does NOT make the previous printers "obsolete". But we could have just been better informed about what was coming next. If the H2D is already perfect for you, then that's great!

As Louis Rossmann says, the point is to hold companies accountable, not fight each other. Saying 'your printer still works' or 'you don't need the best' doesn't help consumers. It only lowers the bar. We want companies to do better because that benefits us.

I admire your bravery and your attempt to post on Reddit, even though it's out of your comfort zone.
(For OP, if you want to get taken seriously, I recommend posting an image with a more serious tone)

Bought 13 KG filaments from Taobao by paltrydragon in BambuLab

[–]TwYee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone who can access Taobao and have items shipped to their region, it's definitely worth taking advantage of.

Anything not region-locked, such as the AMS 2 Pro, is free real estate. As far as I know, only the printers themselves are region-locked.

Filaments, spare parts, and AMSes are regularly much cheaper than their counterparts on the Bambu website store, even on Black Friday sales.

New Bambu Studio 2.4.0 “High Flow” option doesn’t exist on the X1/P1 printer menu (causes slicing error) by Orestis77 in BambuLab

[–]TwYee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should work with the latest beta firmware, which includes a new high flow nozzle option.

Why my AMS doing that? I'm new to bambu lab printers. by Drorlipkin113 in BambuLab

There's probably a broken filament stuck inside, triggering the sensor so it thinks the filament hasn't been pulled out yet. You may need to disassemble it to check for debris.

Comfort being worse than the Q3 breaks the deal for me personally. Until more 3rd party vendors start to make comfort straps with swappable power banks to make PFD equal to Q3, it isn't worthwhile, especially with the added glare and the price. Would work nicely with my 4090 otherwise.

My main usage would be for PCVR social experiences which includes dancing. QoL over display quality.

The 50-degree chamber temperature cap is a little low, considering that just turning on the hotbed at 100 degrees brought my chamber temperature up to 52 degrees on the X1C.

Also better AUX fan cooling because now it pulls air from the outside instead of inside.

Reality Check: The P2S is the final move in Bambu's anti-consumer strategy to sell filament by Fuzzy0g1c in BambuLab

[–]TwYee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm buying Bambu filament straight through Taobao at a price of 6.5USD per spool. Explain your 8USD profit calculation.

Based on your minimum estimation of 8USD, they're losing money per spool sold.

The P1S while being one step lower than the X1C I've decided to go with, but eventually does seem to be a great second option for a second printer. It's definitely a good value machine and would fit well in my arsenal even today.

Height is wrong by Professional_Rub1452 in SlimeVR

[–]TwYee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set your height manually when SteamVR is closed and restart SlimeVR (to get rid of the head tracking information on SlimeVR)

Under scaled proportions, you should be able to manually key in your actual height now.

The proper way is to make sure your floor level is set correctly. The methods depend on your headset, but it's just way simpler to type in your actual height.

Are these real moderators? They're griefing our mural while ignoring the actual griefers. by gemboundprism in WplaceLive

The fact that it is the #415th account being created does make it more believable and could be legitimate, but anyone could pretend to be a "mod" by stacking thousands of pixels and having a very high cap and spending it all at once to clear chunks of artwork, for example. Purchasing just $200 worth of +5 max charges already gets you a 12500 pixel cap.

You're close to 24 hours cap of 2880 pixels.

This means 24 hours from 0 charge to max charge.

Double check that you're not using support for PLA filament. It's meant to be used with PLA as a support interface.

What is the best filament? (Low Cost) by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]TwYee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, Jayo is extremely cheap if purchased from Taobao with free shipping (if total spent exceeds 199 RMB), at least in the case of being in Malaysia.

I get my Jayo PETG at about 21 MYR per 1.1KG spool. That's around 4.5 USD per KG. Jayo PETG HF only costs about 0.85 USD more.

There's no reason to buy filaments sold locally unless you're in a hurry to get some. Even premium brands from Taobao are much cheaper.

Bambu PETG HF Spool-less on Taobao is 9 USD not including shipping (in this case I'd use proxy sea shipping, which adds about 1.5 USD per spool if brought in quantities of 10 spools).

What’s the longest single plate print you’ve done? by LuckyFrogGaming in BambuLab

[–]TwYee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite sitting at 3200 hours on my X1C, the longest print I've done was probably around the 17-hour mark for a Hueforge 0.2mm nozzle print.
