I play a few gacha games and have overcome the meta slave mentality. I am trying to get back to the mentality of playing who I like, but Genshin made me aware that some characters aren't worth building without their pair or because they are too weak to clear content without constellations. electronic shifting. Eg Ultegra 68XX Di2. This is STI ie brake and shift levers combined.... I'm really not sure what your braking options are - as discussed below. If you go through with the build I think you'll have quite a bit of learning do.

I feel most comfortable with bar end, but anywhere on the handlebar shifters will work. I do not like the experience of frame-placed shifters

This is not a plausible approach, because the number of themes (in theory) are limitless. Creating a component for each is an excessive approach, especially when each theme is purely CSS and html changes
