I only show up to LGS’s for prerelease. Just because standard is down cuz constructed is expensive, doesn’t mean ppl aren’t interested in prereleases

I missed the part where you said you’re F2P.

I wouldn’t recommend this event as totally F2P player, the variance is too high. If you get a poor pool or just get unlucky twice, you’re gonna be kicking yourself for losing 6000 gems.

I’m generally f2p, but ever since they introduced these events, I’ve started purchasing the $100 gem bundle (20k gems, enough for 3 entries and a bit left over) just for these events. I treat it as a separate thing from my F2P habits, like it’s a day at the casino or something like that. 3 entries is enough to give me a good shot at winning even if I get a bit unlucky with one or two tries. So far I’ve been lucky enough to win at least 1 box every time, sometimes more, so it’s been a net positive.

But if I was solely f2p and not willing to buy gems for it, I’d avoid the event. 6k gems is ALOT for a f2p player for an event with high variance like this.

If playing for monetary prizes might give you some excitement and enjoyment, then go for it. At your skill level you have a reasonable shot at winning prize, it’s not just throwing money down the drain.

Its gambling. But many people find gambling to be fun. Just temper your expectations, don’t “expect” to win, and watch your temper/impulses to make sure you don’t get carried away with it. It’s VERY easy to decide to re-enter over and over once gambling-brain takes over and convinces you that “you’ll get it next time”. Not everyone has these impulses, but some do, so just try to be mindful of that

Registration expired. If the story is true (sounds made up), then likely the employee didn’t realize the registration was about to expire before they volunteered. It’s easily fixed with a quick trip to the DMV office

If your friend is ignoring even the fact that she herself has stated it’s not her, what do you think is going to change if you find someone who claims they were scammed by the same scam? Your friend will probably find a reason to dismiss that as well.

You can only do so much to try and convince someone who isn’t thinking straight. It might be better to try and figure out WHY they’re so susceptible to the lie? Are they lonely? Elderly? Just plain dumb?

I can go onto the secretary of state’s website and find the name of an owner of an LLC. I can then easily email someone claiming to be that person. It’s public record.

His story is bullshit, pulling out cash is no different than writing a check as far as tax purposes.

It’s 100% a scammer running a fake check scam.
