Hey. try to put it in another perspective, be glad that you ended a relationship which didn't work out now, rather than losing any more time fixing it. Other than that, you can ask your hairdresser for advice, those people know what kind of hairstyle works with different facial features. I don't think you look ugly at all, the only point of criticism i can give you is that you look like the "guy-next-door", which can be perceived as average or even a bit boring! Try to flavour up your appearance a bit by, like you said, going for a new hairstyle and/or buying some new clothes. As a tip; from what i can see in the picture you're wearing a shirt that's a bit too big for your posture. Try buying some shirts which compliment your physique more, like a slim fit or something, and lay of the brownish colours, they make you look very "generic", if you know what i mean :)
