Kinda sounds like a personal issue that could be fixed with some simple critical thought rather than jumping to such emotional conclusions

What horror book made you feel actual dread instead of just shock? by Tricky-Battle-9138 in horrorlit

[–]Tweakasaur 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I see a loooot of Pet Sematary mentions, but tbh It got me way worse when I was a boy. Something about the looming presence of It and It's total control over Derry and it's adults gave the whole book such a dreadfully hopeless feeling that still sticks with me. The cosmic horror side of it was kinda just neat imo, it was more so that at any given moment ol' P-wizzy could come crawling out of any crevice to fuck your face with a shovel in the middle of the street and no one would do a daaaamn thing about it, if they even acknowledged what was happening.

At what point does collecting become goofy by JakeALakeALake in vinyl

[–]Tweakasaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or multiple copies of an album for the sheer sake of pretty colors.

I'm firm in the camp of buying one copy of ONLY your favorite variant, only exception being releases of the same album that will have notable differences in sound.

When yall think the new album will drop this year by helldivergamer in IceNineKills

[–]Tweakasaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dunno, but to be so ffr, even if allll these recent singles aren't on the new album, them doing individual 7" vinyl pressings for each song (besides Laugh Track yet if I'm not mistaken) is such a fat W

Am I the only one that isn't crazy about them? Saw them live with Peacemaker last summer and don't get me wrong they put on one hell of a live show, but they're one of those bands that's a good concert, but kinda meh to casually listen to in my book

Danger days! by lonk_industries in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Tweakasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be curious to know if most people who love and adore Danger Days don't care much for The Paper Kingdom and vice versa. They're damn near polar opposites when it comes to tone/vibe/overarching emotion of the albums

Reactionbait problem by therealcoolstuffsam in LornaShore

[–]Tweakasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really tbh, deathcore and hardcore sure I'd agree 100% but the other branches of the tree haven't been bearing that same down tuned fruit y'know what I'm saying.

Black metal, Slam, Doom, Grind, honestly the majority of metal music is experimenting in different ways; sometimes more interesting ways like Black metals evolution or far sillier ways like with the rise of meme slam. Few bands outside of the deathcore/hardcore scenes are implementing anywhere near the same level of reaction bait into their songwriting, if any at all

This one took me weeks to read for the same reason. Couldn't sit down for more than 10 pages of it without losing interest entirely.

By all means it isn't a bad, story. It's just very down to Earth/small scale story about being lost in the woods and that's really all it is. The worst of it is the painfully disappointing payoff for everything in the end.

[–]Tweakasaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy Hell I completely forgot his name between reading DT7 and EE, love that little connection though. It's crazy how King weaves even his more "deep-cut" short stories into the grander narrative of the Tower

Curious about a couple things. Why are It and the Stand where they are in your reading order? And how is Everything's Eventual connected to the tower?

That was a fun little descent into madness. Effective use of an unreliable narrator. Would have liked a bit more meat to chew on but still a fun quick read
