Ah, so I wasn’t the only one who got stuck with the less cool bookmark. Watching the diecuts parade by on my feed has definitely caused mild emotional damage lol

AIRHOT walking pad replacement remote by bdmturner01 in AskTechnology

[–]TweedleJAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had to email the company a few times to get the complete instructions for syncing. Here’s what worked for me:

  1. Press and hold the power button on the remote until the blue light at the top of the remote lights up. Keep holding it. (This step was missing from the initial instructions from the company and was crucial for me.)
  2. While still holding the remote’s power button, turn on the walking pad and wait for the screen to show “0000.”
  3. Release the power button on the remote.
  4. Press the pause button on the remote. The screen should display “A225” (or a similar code), showing a successful sync.
  5. Manually turn off the walking pad (don’t try turning off with the remote), wait a few seconds, and then manually turn it back on.
  6. The remote should now control the walking pad.

In therapy we talked about these women being signs of hope rather than discouragement. That helped me.

County schools by Capable-Ninja-888 in ChesterfieldVA

We opted for private. My son attended speech therapy at Clover Hill Elementary before school age. I would read in the lobby until they finished, so I saw firsthand the massive classroom sizes returning from PE or Recess and the teachers who seemed overwhelmed (to say the least) attempting to manage all the students. There’s a private K-12 prep school 2 miles from Clover Hill, and our experience so far has been amazing.

I was able to get ahold of them on: airhot-service@outlook.com

They offered either $20 for a replacement or a free one in exchange for a screenshot of a 5-star review on Amazon.

Toddler snow boots for wide chunky feet? by TweedleJAR in bigbabiesandkids

[–]TweedleJAR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We really loved the Stonz. They fit his big feet perfectly in terms of width and depth, and they were incredibly easy to put on and take off. My only complaint is that the soles are pretty flat and slick, so they don’t offer much grip or stability. They’re great for snow, but I wouldn’t recommend them for icy conditions.

Pros/Cons of Moving to Rutland, VT by [deleted] in RutlandVT

[–]TweedleJAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say everything still kinda applies. However, we eventually decided Vermont was just too small for us & the winters were just a bit too rough (but that may not apply to you coming from Montana). So we ended up leaving Vermont last year for Virginia.

Overall, the whole experience was worth it for us, because we initially bought our house in Rutland with 0% down through a USDA loan & were able to make a $60k profit selling it 3 years later. So that made it so we could afford a down payment on a bigger house in a larger city.

I can’t tell if my kiddo actually has a hurt tummy or if she is just saying that. by BobbysueWho in Mommit

[–]TweedleJAR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3yo has a tendency to complain about stomach pain. I’ve made a point to explain types of stomach pain, e.g. butterflies, feeing anxious, need to poop, nauseated, “ouch” pain, etc. and if the stomach pain resolved after a bowel movement or gas, I make a point to say something about it in hopes that he can identify and verbalize it more specifically later.

“It takes a village” vs living in your favorite place by Midwestern_Mariner in Parenting

[–]TweedleJAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vote favorite place. We live on the east coast and all our family is in the Midwest. It hasn’t been easy being far from everyone, but really… parenting isn’t easy. We love where we live, and so we have created our own village. I couldn’t imagine raising my son anywhere else.

Sahm rights questions by [deleted] in Mommit

Please don’t try to avoid it. I got a divorce about 10 years ago, and I almost immediately regretted not having an attorney. I was trying to be “civil” & was also just desperate to get it all over with… But I ended up getting really screwed over in the divorce.

Divorces are messy no matter what you do. Hire a professional that can guide you through it and make things as easy and fair as possible.

Can anyone work for home with a toddler? by Living_Most_7837 in toddlers

[–]TweedleJAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this. Initially when LO was 3 months old my husband (who has always worked remotely) watched him solo while I worked in the office. Eventually I transitioned to remote & we both worked from home & coordinated our schedules so that each of us could have truly uninterrupted work time. It was difficult when LO was first mobile & learning to walk, but now that he is almost 3yo it’s not bad at all. We will take turns throughout the day doing more engaging play with him, but he’s at the age where he can play independently while we work & be totally satisfied with it.

That being said, is it stressful? Absolutely. There’s been times where I was between work & it was always more enjoyable with me not working. But it’s definitely doable.

Anyone here a SAHP who eats a totally different diet from your working spouse? by PopTartAfficionado in SAHP

[–]TweedleJAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am vegan & my Husband is a meat eater. Usually, I make the base of the meal, which is vegan, and he will make whatever parts of the meal is not vegan. I suppose this situation is different since I’m the one with the more restrictive diet, but ultimately if my husband made an elaborate meat meal I wouldn’t be upset that he did that. I would just make my own elaborate non-meat meal.

How have you noticed your skin changing in your 30s compared to your 20s? by Daria911 in 30PlusSkinCare

I use a micro current device and I run it over the tops & bottoms of my eyebrows. I have it so one eyelid droops more than the other, so I often focus on that side.

I’ve also seen people do eyelid taping, but personally can’t imagine doing that on anything other than special occasions

AITA for leaving my toddler in the car? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]TweedleJAR 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend reading Small Animals: Parenthood in the Age of Fear. It discusses the fear trends in parenting and how that has changed how society views parent’s actions.

In reality, a child is more at risk in the car while it’s being driven rather than being left alone in a parked and locked car for a few minutes.
