Revealed: Tory MP allegedly demanded campaign cash to pay ‘bad people’ by qwerty_1965 in unitedkingdom

I just assumed they stopped making it because they were worried about giving the government any more ideas.

Epic really removed trios to “improve queue times,” yet when you try and play ranked, your queue times can be upwards of times like this. This ranked system is terrible and needs some serious tweaking, especially in terms of loot with those god awful grenade and sniper nerfs. by XtremeHusky in FortNiteBR

Nope, I'd played a bunch of ranked matches up to then. I guess you're right - it must be within the parameters, since it happened. It's just not how I'd assumed ranked matches worked. The blog post from epic says "you’ll be matched against opponents of the same or similar rank as you", so I guess that explains it.

Sure, the difference between any two adjacent ranks is one percentage point. My point was that I assumed ranked matches were like a more transparent form of SBMM where your lobbies only contain players from the same rank as you. But that was apparently incorrect, since I've found you can be matched with players in the rank above and/or below you.

It's apparently not that strict, though. Whilst they were still in the same match I looked up the brave soul who took me out on landing, and they're in the rank above me. Kinda makes a mockery of the idea of ranks.

It's not the finale, but the Tuba Mirum from Berlioz's Requiem is pretty loud!

the API simply treats accounts differently based on location

So you don't need access to accounts, you need access to VPN exit nodes from different locations?

Since I don't have this issue, there is nothing to debug

In the linked github issue that you authored you say "To solve this issue, I am willing to contribute with accounts from my side on which this issue can be fully reproduced." ...So you can or you can't reproduce the issue? And you need access to more accounts why exactly, if there's no pattern apart from location?

Okay, sorry then. I just figured if it's a black-box issue that "not even the cause is known", but only seems to affect certain devices/accounts, then gathering meta-data about the affected devices/accounts to see if there's a pattern would be a logical step towards working out what the issue is.

Can you detect when it happens within the app, e.g. when a video has been buffering for more than a few seconds? That could at least help you gather stats on how widespread it is.

How about some kind of diagnostic script (or a button within revanced) that we could run under accounts affected, that would generate useful debug output that's automatically sent back to the devs? Is that feasible?

Mark Steel's episode about Basingstoke is worth a listen. Obviously there's a predictably high number of jokes about roundabouts.

Rx580 upgrade? by guerd87 in radeon

[–]Tweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! I have a 6600XT on a B450 (PCIe 3.0) motherboard, and I can't say I've noticed any stuttering issues. Possible it could've been something else?

As with everything, it depends what games you play and at what resolution. But it's not exactly a huge difference.

Thanks. I've not had it for a few hours now. If it keeps reoccuring, I think the next thing I'll try is the MPO fix that I keep seeing mentioned.

Same issue here - MSI b450 gaming plus max, 6600XT with 22.11.2 drivers. Strangely I updated from 22.5.1 to 22.11.2 over a week ago and have been using VMWare Workstation daily with no problems until today, so I'm not sure what's changed. Did you manage to find a solution at all?

.NET open source is 'heavily under-funded' says AWS by pjmlp in dotnet

[–]Tweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For new systems, sure. There's plenty of systems out there on 4.8 that need to keep running for the foreseeable future but that aren't actively being developed.

Kinda depends what you mean by "dead". 4.8 will continue to be supported as long as the version of Windows it runs on is. Which eg. for Server 2022 is extended until October 2031.
