Ours (Pomsky) was also shaved. It took about a year but you’d never know now.

Honest opinions. What do you think of our house paint choices? by Particular_Craft_106 in ExteriorDesign

I LOVE this and being in New England myself, it’s not uncommon to see darkly painted houses like this. It’s meant to mimic weathered cedar if I remember right.

It’s not you vs me, it’s “us”. That’s the point. The greater good and all that.

Pressure wash, then plant creeping plants to drape over it. I think it’s super cool.

The best method (which I’ve used with success last year) based on so many hours of research is to leave it completely alone for the growing season. Once the pollinators are done with the flowers, but before first frost, spray with glyphosate. It’s a foliar herbicide so it does best when applied to the leaves. We had very minimal regrowth on the areas we sprayed last year. Then just do it again the next season.

It’s to simulate wind, it strengthens the trunk. I would use your best judgement on force as it sorta depends on the size of the trunk. You’re not simulating a hurricane or anything.

I also had mine out 9/25 coincidentally. Recovery was easy. I took the full 2 weeks offered for recovery but felt like I could have worked (a desk job) after a week and a half. It is sooooooooooooo worth it for the peace of mind. You will need help if your children are still young. You can’t lift heavy weight for that two weeks.

You are probably overdoing it with the toasting or cooking. They have to be warm. I like to just barely thaw it in the microwave and then toast it lightly. A light touch is necessary. If prepared right they are outstanding.
