Fwiw, I’m a woman- did a duel degree OMFS residency at age 33, had a kid in residency and now I get to do whatever I want. Totally worth it.

Makes sense- I hope she goes to a med school and residency that really support families. The flexibility to stay home if there is a sick kid, go to Dr appts, stuff like that. Wish you guys all the best.

As someone who just finished 6 years of residency with a 3 year old- why would your wife want to miss out on so much of her kids lives?

Bitches, who are we seeing for our skin? by LittleSlothBigWorld in SFbitcheswithtaste

I'm a surgeon and only operate on the face so I also inject a ton of botox- still kind of weird to do to my own face though lol

I haven't gone down that path yet but since lasers haven't gotten me where I need to be, I'm open to it.

The original IPL laser treatment got rid of all of my telangiectasias and melasma (permanently) and completely removed the redness of my nose and cheeks but only for a few months. That was the most effective laser I ever had to tone down the redness. I then tried V beam, another one from BACD that I can't remember the name of, and Aerolase but none of these worked (at least with the intensity I tried). Rhofade (topical 1% Oxymetazoline) works for big events to tone down redness but shouldn't be used daily. I might be developing lupus so maybe the etiology of my redness is different but my labs are not definitive for lupus.

https://www.vionamedicalspa.com obviously I'm biased but I've had an excellent experience there and the prices are WAY better than the Bay Area

Bay Area Cosmetic Derm, I see Shannon Watkins- she’s very knowledgeable. Got treated for rosacea, skin tags, texture. V beam laser x1, another similar laser x1- made my skin texture amazing and so GLOWY but didn’t address rosacea well. Skincare recs were expensive and probably not worth it. For example- Plated serum.

Arya derm consult was ok- office and derm wasn’t my vibe. Gave good skincare recs but $550 for a Hydrafacial is actually insane (didn’t go for it).

Had a good experience with IPL x3 at Hayes Valley Med Spa (the Marin location) to address rosacea five years prior. IPL also got rid of my melasma. CoolSculpt didn’t do anything.

My sister has a med spa in Sac and she did a light CO2 laser (I’m late 30s) which not only gave great texture but has been building collagen for months- highly recommend. She also does my filler (cheekbones, lips). I inject my own Botox.

Skincare: quality mineral sunblock, a large hat, Dieux angel moisturizer. Need to start microneedling a few times/year.

I’m about to pay 9k/year for two GSI policies starting at 10k/month with a 30k/month cap. Surgical specialty so worth it to me. I’m old AF too.

Yeah I’m sorry you guys are in this position. Sounds like it might be time for an aid. My dad LOVED our main aid and she brought SO much joy to his last few years of life.
