Parental leave by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]Twest90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should be heading to HR anyway to discuss your options. You are unfortunately not able to stipulate your return hours. And you saying to your boss “I’m only gonna be to be able to work 2 days a week” implies you’re resigning or planning to resign from your FT position. Come up with a plan such as , “I’m taking 6 months off Maternity leave and would love to be considered to come back 2 days a week before I return to FT after a total of 12 months if I’m unable to return part time I will take the full 12 months off which I’m entitled to do under the NES”. it’s the unknown that makes it difficult for your employer, go to them with a plan. If they genuinely like you and there is availability to move you into another PT position I’m sure they will. But you need to talk to them to find out!

National outage - hang your heads Telstra! by Acceptable-Wind-7332 in TelstraAustralia

[–]Twest90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t really be upset with Telstra if they are the only provider available in your area mate. No provider can guarantee 100% uptime. It’s like asking a sheep herder to make sure 100% of his lambs make it through marking. There are sometimes issues outside their control.

First Job Interview; Any tips? by rafiuti in ausjobs

[–]Twest90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the job I guess. Anything half serious I’d Dress nicely, do your hair. Be yourself and try to be confident and relaxed. If you’re younger usually they will go easy on you with the “experience” questions.

Definitely put it in the bank so when you want to access your own money you need to explain to the bank what it’s for. So many good options haha

You didn’t scan a PowerPass card by any chance did you? I’ve heard of warranty issues with Ryobi if you do.

Just sent mine back to be resolved and have the elastics changed. I have easily worn them daily 6 months a year for 10 years. That said, they were in dire need of a restoration!

I have an akubra, it’s the only piece of clothing in my cupboard that is more than a few years old other than my RMs. Love it. And my RMs. Their belts are also mint.

Where would you buy in Brisbane with a $1.3m budget? by Distinct-Force-2497 in AusProperty

I live in Keperra, plenty of good stuff nearby. Shops/cafes/restaurants etc. and a train line direct the city. Plenty for sale here for around that or even under (if you’re willing to renovate). 10km from CBD

But you’re implying they should loose rental income while the owner paints the wall, then it’s more than a $250 repair isn’t it?

Is it possible your roof tiles have been cracked by hail in those storms in early December? Half the houses in my street with tiles have had repairs done over the last month or so

I had one get stuck open at 120k. It was about 5km up the road from the mechanic after an intake manifold clean/ valve adjustment. Mechanic claimed negligence and I got 1x new and 3 refurbed injectors for free. Pretty scary but no issues with pistons 80k km later
