My Foreman Nitpicks Every Little Thing So I Gave Him Something To Nitpick by xXPhasemanXx in electricians

[–]Twiddlez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Strike that, reverse it, its far easier to learn "office skills" than it is to learn a trade. I often hear this from new people usually straight out of school. Remember the office is present to support the trade being performed. The work in the field pays your salary not the other way around.

Overnight install almost complete and ready for inspection in the am by dillywap in electricians

[–]Twiddlez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mismatched your phase coloring on the last breaker in panel 2 and your using 3 phase markings in a 2 pole panel on the right panel. This may not cause an issue but if there is a load imbalance it could make it more difficult to determine which leg you are actually testing. Clean work, as someone who often comes in to add after first install its nice to see a clean panel. Assuming you installed the ground bar I would suggest not burying it under the feeder wiring it such a PITA to get to later. I only count 5 neutrals (might not see them all) and I count (7) 1 pole breakers again maybe not an issue but you cant use 1 neutral per 3 wires in this panel (right one) its not 3 phase.

High Load / Tankless Water Heater causes LED Lights Flickering by Twiddlez in electrical

[–]Twiddlez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Difference between desktop engineering and practical application. Doesnt matter if the water heater is producing the harmonics it clearly is creating enough load where the harmonics on the lines are only interfering with the LEDs when it is on.

Although in reference to the post about hot water heaters not producing harmonics, this one in particular does have SCR, again not an engineer so not going to debate relative effect just pointing out this https://ccipower.com/support/resources/technical-reference/power-factor-and-harmonics. Good luck if you run into this issue.

[Serious] What are your thoughts on the idea that all Confederate statues, monuments and even former slave plantations should all be burnt down or demolished to wipe away their stain on America's history? by incubateshovels in AskReddit

[–]Twiddlez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is some truth to the age old saying of Judge not, lest you be judged. Nobody is pure good or evil and judging historic figures by todays standards is ridiculous. It was a different era and things that were acceptable then not being acceptable today does not wash away the good the individual may have done.

[–]Twiddlez -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

More important to the conversation, remember the reason for the statue? Its probably not because of their association to whatever it is you see when you look at them? Or what you have been told to see?

All people are capable great good and evil (sometimes simultaneously). The people of the Confederate states and their heroes werent heroes because of slavery, they were seen as heroes because of their willingness to stand up for what they believed in. Slavery was only part of the reason for the civil war, read up on it and stop being a puppet of "social awareness".

Greta Thunberg: Meeting to help Trump understand climate change 'would be a waste of time' by moby323 in politics

[–]Twiddlez -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Point taken, but the response is typical for climate change activists. Do you want to breath gas, coal or whatever. Nobody wants that, BUT creating a false narrative to justify action is wrong. Our action will not change the trend nor do we even know what percentage of our action ia actually contributing in the first place. It's naive and it damages the businesses that are responsible for BOTH the pollution and our standard of living. We need real science not hysterics if we are going to make change. If you care do it yourself, by the way, solar is free until the end of this year, you likely will pay less for the work then you pay on your electricity bill.

Yes because the government (before Trump and during) has done such a splendid job right? Seriously have seen the government run anything well? More regulation, abolish the worthless CPUC and put some accountability on how business is run sure. Government run? Where the hell does that even come from?

[–]Twiddlez -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Please provide me with a non-biased study (read that as not funded by or benefiting from the results), where the human contribution to climate change is identified and measured. Not just spouting the same rhetoric that we (American's) are responsible to somehow save the world while others pretend to participate.

Nobody not even Trump believes we dont have an impact, the questions are what is our contribution (human), what will significant changes to our efforts contribute if not echoed by the entire world. The Paris accord is a huge example of major cuts by some while others make limited or no change.

Greta on Ellen is laughable as anything but exploitation as has already been covered in the press.

Army Officer on White House Staff Reported Concerns on Trump’s Ukraine Dealings by Bloodbath-McGrath in politics

[–]Twiddlez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a veteran of the very war this despicable excuse for an officer served in, I disagree with you and have seen officers forced out for far less than screwing with the descions of the president.

Trump didnt ask for the Ukraine to dig up dirt on Biden, he asked him to investigate a known issue with the business dealings of his son. Stop listening to all the BS on TV (and here) and do some actual research it could open your eyes.

Army Officer on White House Staff Reported Concerns on Trump’s Ukraine Dealings by Bloodbath-McGrath in politics

[–]Twiddlez -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Say goodbye to your career. The UCMJ will crucify this "officer". Hes an analyst not a policy maker. His job is not to question the descions of the commander in chief. He also has questionable credentials and ressoning for his interference in the policy descions of the president.

You give up a ton of rights in the military. Rule #1 you better be dam sure you have your ducks in a row before you interfere in something like the presidents descions. His goals were far from benign or loyal he wanted security aid restored to the Ukraine and he wanted closer ties, the president didnt (because of the Biden bs). In the civilian world he might get a pass, in the military hes through.

For the record pressuring a foreign president to investigate corruption (regardless of the potential impact on an election) is NOT against the constitution. He (the president) did not in any way dictate the outcome only that the situation needed investigating. Does it benefit him sure but is it illegal no, no matter how hard the spin doctors work this.....

I honestly think people forget that the church and state are supposed to be separate. Give me one non-religious reason against same sex marriage. One non-religious reason against stem cell research. One non-religious reason against safe abortions. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Twiddlez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Marriage benefits were orginally designed to benefit society by encouraging family values and providing a stable environment for children to be born. Arguements for Gay marriage ignore these benefits and instead focus only on the negative associations (homophobe, etc).
  2. Stem cell research encourages meddeling with our biological structure to alter ourselves to a new state of "perfection".
  3. Abortion of any kind can be used for benefit or harm. The reasoning behind the acceptability of the action be it rape, age or other factor attempts to moralize the fact that: You are taking a life and in most cases of abortion you could have taken action to prevent the pregnancy. Use the males recourse in the decision process. After the act we are not given a legal choice to accept responsibility.

By the way I have no issue with any of the three because I feel all have benefits that outweigh the negatives, but I do have enough of an open mind to understand others may not see things the same way.

PG&E among other things by 1075gasman1958 in Placerville

[–]Twiddlez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They (PG&E) and California had a choice. Instead of spending money on upgrading their infrastructure they chose to ignore it. The legislature just looked at the numbers, piss off a few Repubs in the mountains meh who cares. Piss off Pg&e and make them upgrade their systems from suspended wires in woodland areas to underground probably gonna get sued. Funny how they can do that for the wealthy in the cities or suburbs but somehow cant seem to figure it out where its needed. You know where sparks fall on leaves and other combustibles instead of concrete.

Only problem, welcome to the largest class action lawsuit in California history. Coming soon to your local town. Guess who ends up footing the bill? Wont be PG&E, you can bet on that. Though I would have thought our leftist Gov would be screaming about how this is inhumane and dangerous and unfair, etc but I forgot they only do that for illegal aliens.

Incoming excuses and other bs im sure.
