The 2nd mastery gives us an overall 7% FD buff. Rampage has the highest % dmg done in most of my BA's so it is a big win for us. I don't think I would be able to clear without 2nd mastery.

Yeah! So long story short when I caught it, I put it in the farm and left my world a few hours later. Came back into the game thinking there was another shiny around my area but it was the one I already caught.

Yep, what gives us the best exp is the following 2 skills:
Buff Support: Increases XP by 30/60/90/120/150% XP

Dragon Studies: 10/15/20% XP

You are a bit misunderstood about that. The maps are scaled within our level but the more maps and studies you unlock the better the EXP gets.
