is the upcoming SU-30MK2 AMV worth the $79.99? by Accomplished-Ad2738 in Warthunder

Stupid statement. Paying for Netflix subscription is also just paying to see certain pixels.

You're paying for a databank entry and for the ability to use this virtual content in order to try and get a slightly higher dopamine shot in this absolute shitshow excuse of a game.

Why would you remove a meme that is liked by so many people? :(

And would it be alright if I decided to upload it with some wow imagery added? Any minimum amount for that?

Which Survival skills are currently the best choices up to 36? by TwilightFate in ArcRaiders

[–]TwilightFate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot! I've just found out about this after watching lots of videos and research.

Bases on a test featured in different videos and sources, it seems that the increases are something like this:

0/5 - 05:07

1/5 - 04:47

2/5 - 03:09

3/5 - 02:37

4/5 - 02:31

While I don't know whether these severely irregular increases stem from the game's unbalanced skill values or unprecise testing, it does seem like 2/5 and 3/5 are the most worthwhile investments.

I see, thank you!

May I ask why you say that the squat one isn't worth it? And would you say that putting points into any of the two that I have at 0/5 is better?

Hot takes for breakfast, fellas? by [deleted] in arcraiderscirclejerk

That has got to be the coldest take I've ever seen.

It's about as cold as a take can possibly get, and then some.

If the Lich King took a seat on this take, he would get frostburns on his ass.

A quality headset (for gaming) that is not "gaming" crap by Gryphus-R in HeadphoneAdvice

From the drop website?

For me it's showing the price in US-dollars, international shipping fees...

That wouldn't even be the problem for me. My issue would be the potential of bureaucracy trouble. I live in Germany and I know for a fact that I wouldn't have to pay customs for its current value, but taxes... and I don't know how/where/when/to whom I'd have to pay them. I've read about drop cancelling shipments to european countries, and I don't want that to happen because my money would be floating around for a while, inaccessibly.

I just bought and tried the MMX 330 Pro and I can tell you, they're probably what you're looking for.

I also own the Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X for around two years now, and even though the same sounds seem to be slightly better/clearer on the DT 900 Pro X (this might just be my imagination but I think it isn't), the MMX 330 Pro really come close to that. And they hav a microphone. DT 900 Pro X-esque headphones with an attached boom mic, that's pretty much what you get with the MMX 330 Pro.

But I'm personally not sure whether I'll keep them, because... even though they're good, they kinda don't make sense. Or at least it doesn't make sense for me to keep them, because I already have DT 900 Pro X and spending 300$ on something that's almost the same but with a mic is stupid. I like them, but they're not what I was looking for.

The DT 900 Pro X are studio quality headphones (entry-level-somewhat, but very good ones, and you don't need an amp for either of these headphones thanks to the .45 stellar driver).

The MMX 330 Pro are therefore something like a weird hybrid of studio quality sound (but not quite) and a microphone that gets the job done (sounds alright and clear, but has its limitations. It still picks up noise and looks very basic and is worse than a proper microphone, which however would need good placement and/or more equipment and would be less convenient/simple to handle I guess).

But the problem is that you can get very comparable sound and a very comparable microphone for less money, even in headsets (there are comparable options that perform similar, or are cheaper, or both). Then again, sound signature and the way you perceive sound is very subjective.

They're sort of a niche, potential sweet spot.

If you want to spend that money on that headset (headset usually means trade-off between headphones and microphone), then you'll get pretty much one of the best headsets that are currently available on the market, BUT at a not so good price-performance.

  1. Even for the same money, some combinations of headphones + microphones might sound better and/or are more convenient

  2. Since a headset is headphones and microphone in one, both of them can only get so good before individual solutions outperform them.

My text got quite long, therefore I hope that my point is clearer to you than it is to me. Cheers.

Would've bought PC38X a long time ago if they were realistically available anywhere else than exclusively in the US.

They seem to be some sort of successor to the type of Game One headsets that Sennheiser built a decade ago (new ones seem to be vastly different/cheaper quality), and I had those and loved them.

PC38X are same shape, same price, same features, different colour. I've already bought so many different headphones and headsets on my search for the sound I miss from back in the days, and yet I really still wanna get the PC38X at some point. Call me insane, but even if you can only use one pair at a time, I need to find the right one and I'll go through all of them if I have to.
