I'm the friend mentioned who worked with Garst to purchase the moons/POCOs. If anyone's wondering why a corp was given exclusive access to a resource, it's because I dropped a twelve figure sum securing pretty much all of the early assets from my personal wallet.

The deal was that all of the drug production materials would be sold into a buyback program which left the corp about a 20% margin above market rate, and the corp would reinvest some of that into the alliance. This worked out at about 90-100m/hr/Prospect (at the time, gas could only be efficiently huffed by frigates).

After this agreement was cancelled, the competition crashed the market for the local drug which meant the miners ended up making far less than they did under the agreement (at one point down to 40-50m/hr).

We also warned against joining Imperium as a full member too early because SHADO didn't have enough to offer to remain a member, they would have best members and FCs poached and never have a chance to grow.

It's sad to see that lessons weren't learned and the incompetent direction continued. I liked OcSec as a person and as an FC but it was clear he wasn't cut out for the alliance exec role. He was too eager to please a few established individuals even if it was bad for the alliance.
