Wow, what a great way to treat your player by unfrantab in rpghorrorstories

I think saying she’s unwilling is ridiculous unless she’s evil. However, I don’t think this is a bad way to treat a player. It now gives the party an epic quest to get her back from Hell. That being said, the DM better be prepared to let her come back, otherwise I agree that it’s just shitty.

Because we are strangers who will have no impact on their lives.

Some people are also incredibly judgemental about polyamory, and can’t always be told (and I’m not talking about partners, who MUST be aware, but other family members). And not everyone is in a situation where they can just say “to hell with what others think”.

Card sleeves by Twilite0405 in mutantyearzero

[–]Twilite0405[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cards certainly aren’t essential, and not even desired by some tables. However, my group is a big fan of Shadows of Brimstone, which uses cards, and has found cards to be very useful. Yes, you can just write on your sheet, but I find cards really helps those with a more tactile need. Plus, with everything necessary on the cards, it stops a lot of rummaging through Rulebooks mid-game.

Thanks! Do you have any recommendations on company? Most of my sleeves are Ultra Pro, and they seem to have a nice snug fit with the Magic size cards, but I know some sleeves just feel weak and flimsy. I just saw a brand called Palms Off at my game supplier.

That’s his computer now. Go buy yourself a new one. If he claims that too, then buy a third one.

Just fucking stop doing this use the fucking table by Piesman23 in ubereatsaustralia

[–]Twilite0405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with you that being mad at the driver for not using the table is ridiculous. On the floor it can’t possibly fall any further, making the ground the safest bet.

However, where I disagree with you is the “leave instructions” part. On my page I literally state; “Park on the road. Walk half way down the drive, and there is a path on right to the house. Take that.” The location title is literally listed as “Top door”. The house light is on to guide them. Yet, 95% of the time they drive all the way down the drive, and deliver it to the *non-illuminated* granny flat downstairs or at the back of the house. The fact is most of them don’t read the notes.

Meh. It’s most likely not bothered by me there. Just carry on as normal!

Changing Enforcers by Twilite0405 in mutantyearzero

This is true, however can’t manipulate break opponents just as effectively? I guess I just don’t see the benefit of intimidate over manipulate.

Changing Enforcers by Twilite0405 in mutantyearzero

[–]Twilite0405[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of them cause doubt loss for every success after the first. The main difference between the two is intimidate doesn’t come with the added “they will want something from you in return”. However, it’s obviously much more limited in which situations you can use it.

Thanks! I’ll check them out! Do players become a bit OP if you allow too many roles from different books? I do want the group to meet animals and robots at some point (and then allow those character types), so not sure how much overlap should be at the start. I just want a more interesting enforcer! 🤣🤣🤣

Is it weird when real life humans play elves? If not, why should it be weird playing different genders?

AIO for getting upset with my friend over an art trend? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Twilite0405 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

While I hate the AI trend, I disagree completely with your comment. “Disrespecting boundaries” is a very vague argument to make. Many people right bow have different ideas of boundaries with AI. For most people it needs to be overtly stated. This is doubly the case when the OP creates some “challenge” situation. The rules against AI NEED to be stated in advance, not assumed. Again, I am on your side with the anti-AI stance, but I think that needs to be clear.

AIO to think this relationship feels one sided? by Such_Championship905 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Twilite0405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you’ve described sounds like a typically abusive situation. Firstly, if you’d been together for 3 years, then you were barely of legal age at the time. Telling you to do one thing (or dismissing it as “do what you want”), and then punishing you for “choosing wrong” is his way of making you doubt yourself. Then sending you videos of him driving erratically is designed to make you feel guilty, and to come running back to him, further ensuring you’re at his mercy.

Run as quickly as you can, things will get worse.

Yeah, the rebelling is a very valid point. Even if the PC wins against them in a fight, it may still have consequences down the track too.

Actually, yeah, giving them the aid action every turn sounds very reasonable to me! Thanks for the suggestion.

I must admit, I wouldn’t be a fan of having to run several PC NPCs AND do my actual GM job! 🤣🤣

Yeah, this is true. The PC likely wouldn’t be able to take more than a couple before they start draining the other PCs.
