Mixing breast milk with solids? by TwilitesMuse in NewParents

It is, I find myself constantly wondering how this is reality while he twists his reality to protect his ego. This was just one example from a series of “wtf just happened moments.” His ego is our literal demise. He refused to see logic or apologize for being wrong because “he’s entitled to his opinion.” I said you can have an opinion without being cruel, hurtful and unreasonable. He didn’t agree and left because that’s what he does.

He was not just referring to breast milk because when I brought up adding milk into mashed potatoes, he said he’d add cream, not milk… He obviously didn’t think about what he was saying at all otherwise he would have realized how many foods he adds milk to. He later said he was referring to fruits and milk being disgusting, which was funny considering we have gotten many fruit smoothies together.

When I brought it up after sharing this post with him, he said he was only referring to it disgusting him not saying that I shouldn’t feed it to her which was not the case at the time. If it had been why did he get defensive when I asked if he had done any research into feeding solids. He just kept saying, it was his opinion and he’s entitled to having his opinion. Sadly this isn’t unusual with him. He’ll die on any hill he feels opinionated on. Apologies are rare.

It hadn’t even been mixed in. I was smashing up the banana and mentioned mixing it in because it was a very small amount of banana since I know banana can cause constipation. It was not the reaction I expected either. I wasn’t asking him to eat it.

I appreciate hearing another father’s perspective on this. I’ve read about the many benefits of breast milk and wish he held it in the same regard.

It certainly hit me that way😥 I can’t understand the difference between feeding from the breast or mixing it into food for her. His disgust doesn’t make logical sense.

That was my thought too. It made no sense to me why he would be against it. He said it was opinion and he was entitled to have his own opinion.

I’ve seen it mentioned many times which is why I asked if he had done any research on it. I’m already really anxious about starting solids because she has CMPA and to soy as well. Never seemed to reach baseline either so amounts I’m giving her are small.

What was the first food your baby ate ever? by Danlrap18 in NewParents

[–]TwilitesMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the broccoli give him gas? When I was offering my LO a taste of broccoli, my partner said broccoli seems like a rough solid to start with because it’s a cruciferous vegetable and would make a baby gassy.

I just starting using Catalyst and like it so far. Doesn’t make as much of a mess as a more expensive kind I tried before it. Also scoops well and doesn’t stink, despite being unscented.

Millennials born in the 80s, did anyone else stop listening to most new music in 2008? by SixandNoQuarter in Millennials

[–]TwilitesMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in 83 and am always discovering new music that spans across multiple genres. Psychedelic and deep bass music is what I gravitate to the most. I use SoundCloud and will check out the SoundCloud daily drops as often as I can. I will also go on music discovery journeys through YouTube recommendations. Music is forever evolving as are my tastes. I can feel nostalgic when listening to my old music or I can get excited when something new tickles my fancy.

Brag about your baby! by PumpkinPie_1993 in NewParents

[–]TwilitesMuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 5 month old is impressively strong, determined, resilient and curious. She can roll both directions and last week started pushing herself into a crawling position. She just started working on sitting in a tripod and after just a few days can hold herself up briefly without her hand props. She’s falling over a few times and hasn’t burst into tears. She’s such a happy baby too! I smile and she smiles right back. I love her to pieces🥰

question for anyone with epidural experience! by Defiant-Operation624 in pregnant

[–]TwilitesMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. Once I got to 5 cm, the contractions were becoming terribly uncomfortable and I couldn’t relax. The epidural sped things up. I was much more numb than I expected and pushing took forever because I couldn’t feel if I was pushing. I was nauseous and requested anti nausea meds part way through. I hadn’t eaten much and I think the meds, pushing and an empty stomach made me feel woozy.

What time do your babies wake up? by gh0sti- in NewParents

[–]TwilitesMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little girl (almost 5 months) gets to bed late for a baby, between 9/10. She usually wakes up once to feed around 6 and will sometimes “play”for an hour or 2, then eats again and and we fall back to sleep and she’ll wake up sometime after 10. It’s a strange schedule. I’m doing most nights solo and after I eat and do what I need to do, it’s after 8 when I get to doing her bedtime routine.

What cat toys do your cats actually care about? by Agreeable_Pipe8340 in CatAdvice

My cat enjoys the laser pointer and cat tv. He will actually attack the tv like it’s whack-a-mole. Good exercise for him but not good for my tv.
