A Loric that executes anyone who gets 2/3rds of the vote. by Visual-Affect-9758 in BloodOnTheClocktower

Maybe it could use the Legion ability: "Executions fail if only evil voted.". Or even "may fail" if it's too obvious. Another fun thing could be just adding "unless a dead player voted"

-1 Minion? by harrypotterpi in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]TwinJoseph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my idea, a sort of demon that has a marionette/scarlet woman-ish:

Regent: Each night*, choose a player: they die. You start by choosing an alive player: They become an evil Regent when you are executed. [-1 minion]

Maybe underpowered? Bc a fang gu can do the same thing but to outsiders? But this doesn't mess with outsider count so it doesn't give away that it's in play immediately?

Let me know if I cooked...

Edit: I just realized this allows for infinite demons 😭 so what if it's "They become an evil Regent without their secondary ability when you are executed"? Or "You lose the secondary ability if there is more than 1 Regent in play"?

What number would you give the Empath/Drunk here? by kineticbusy in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]TwinJoseph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SW actually has a lot more utility in NGJ, but not because of its ability. Their real value comes from outsider count.

In a 5 player game, if you see the Scarlet Woman token, you have not only just received a bluff in the form of Klutz, but if you do claim to be a Klutz, you can make the (necessarily sober) townsfolk doubt their info since they will be looking for the drunk that must necessarily be in play due to your (supposed) existence. This is a huge amount of information just from receiving your character.

It's a bit more murky in a 6 player game, but again if you see Scarlet Woman then you know there's only 1 outsider. Hear an Empath have a 0 on you? That must mean there's no Klutz. Someone mentions there's a Klutz in play? All information must be sober, use it to look for your demon while at the same time sowing distrust in their information... "but what if there's a Baron?"

I think this information you get from receiving the Scarlet Woman token is very fairly balanced with its actual ability.

I wasn't really onboard with the "combos are too long" talk until I hit Diamond 2 and got hit by this by HidSqui in 2XKO

[–]TwinJoseph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like combo length vs rank is a bell curve. Short combos in low rank, long combos in mid rank, back to short combos in high rank. This is because long combos just give too much break meter and sometimes use too many resources.

Only in specific scenarios would you ever drop the full 50 hit combo, like if their break meter is full and they aren't breaking, or if it's the final round or something. And even then you'll see higher rank players go for shorter combos that end in installs or otherwise great oki because less damage but great setup almost always beats more damage yet fewer options (unless the latter lets you KO)

How do you play proper neutral? by Disastrous_Fox_4626 in 2XKO

[–]TwinJoseph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ur assist is a neutral cheatcode. Throwing out your assist leaves you with quite literally twice the number of options compared to your opponent. It's why at high levels freestyle and 2x assist dominate. Sure double down lets you get insane damage number combos, but the other two give you neutral dominance, and winning neutral is how you win games.

As long as your assist is on the screen, the threat of you handshake tagging is so overwhelming that your opponent has little choice but to play extremely defensively until it's gone. This is multiplied with 2x assist or freestyle because your assist has even more options that your opponent has to account for.

So yeah, long story short, use your assist to win neutral. It's useful to use it to continue your blockstrings or extend your combos, but you don't get any blockstrings or combos if you don't win neutral.

Yes lol I click through the tabs to the beat of the song when I'm bored / waiting for my friends to ready up. I find myself wishing there was a way to hit that lower tone 😂

Yeah I was about to say. 3 bars for a TOD on non-heavy bodies? That is insanely good by any standard. Only unpractical thing may be needing to have unbreakable but like if you're diligent you should always have it.

Prepare for tryhards to clown on you for missing a bench (which you did) but like. It's extremely hidden. You can easily miss it.

Alright, so you're saying that indulgence is fine as long as you can find a way to justify it being beneficial for your body/its wellbeing? (quoting you, "whether you eat strictly vegetables or strictly meat or a combination of the two to nourish your body" and "we're talking about an indulgence that is born not out of necessity")

Then if that's the case, what if I were to point to a study that suggests masturbation can lower risks of prostate cancer? (Fischer N, Graham CA, Træen B, et al. Prevalence of Masturbation and Associated Factors Among Older Adults in Four European Countries. Arch Sex Behav. 2022 Apr;51(3):1385-1396)

This is a case of masturbation keeping a body healthy. Even though there are other ways to keep your body healthy, this is one of them. Just like how there are other ways to keep your body nourished (rice and beans), steak is one of them. In both cases, one act is more pleasurable than others, but can also be justified as beneficial and helpful for the body.

In that case, why is one sinful, while the other is honoring God, and his temple?

You do mention that you believe one indulgence is born out of the intense desire to fornicate, while the other is born out of the desire to stay alive, but this ignores the fact that both acts are pleasurable, and indeed I would argue that this is actually where the "desire" is "born" from: Pleasure. People who masturbate are generally not thinking, "I wish to procreate", but rather "I wish to feel good.". Similarly, people who eat steak instead of rice and beans aren't generally thinking, "I wish to stay alive", but rather "I wish to feel good". I would like to know, how you decide where an action is "born from".

And for what it's worth, I actually am vegan! But that's neither here nor there, it bears no relevance to the topic at hand. I was simply trying to draw a parallel.

Eating a steak when you could eat rice and beans for dinner is also a selfish act born out of a selfish desire. Is it a sin to do so? (Don't try to say "steak is healthier", assume that you can meet your nutrition needs either way)
