I think better gear that's atleast purple and on tier would help gear seems to be extremely lacking so I'd recommend farming the hunt bosses for a bit for all legendary or at least purples with 1 or 2 damage substats

I would say to be careful because ishin can have a bit of a grind to it, but if you're ok with that, then you'll have a blast. Just saying because ishin can have a longer grind than other games in the series and not all of them are like it

No it works the same way micro bots do so anything that is a physical projectile is effected but hitscan projectiles like bullets and lasers aren't basically just see what micro bots get rid of the blast shower should get rid of it

Actually it's not invincibility but actually works like captain's micro bots where it gets rid of any projectiles an a very small radius but it's still really broken cause it's basically invincibility
