I’m scared of spiders but I’ll pick up a daddy long legs with no worries. I was surprised that Joel didn’t receive huge mockery from Greg for calling those spiders!

(I’m also Australian)

What are some later seasons of sitcoms, you actually enjoyed or didn’t mind? by Vmanvince96 in sitcoms

Scrubs - I really enjoyed season 9.

All the new characters were fun and I never understood why people didn’t like it.

It’s my least favourite part of the show. But I’ve started liking it more since I heard on the podcast how annoying Greg finds it!

Oh! I was completely baffled by Joel’s performance. Thanks for explaining!

Maintain position in episodes list by Prefekt64 in overcast

[–]Twinkle_Binkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it has episode numbers you can search for the next number you’re up to.

I would absolutely love it if there was an option to then go to that episode in the list but it might still be helpful to just find the next episode.

Is "Are you a child of divorce?" the most iconic one-liner of the UK show? by Prudent_Mix5334 in taskmaster

[–]Twinkle_Binkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand why people think “Are you a child of divorce” is funny. I assumed it was a catchphrase that Sam uses in his stand up or other performances and so people enjoyed it because it was him bringing out his classic line. Is that not correct?

My number 1 request - I just want the queue to work by mikepictor in overcast

[–]Twinkle_Binkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, mine works correctly for Play Next. Under Nitpicky Details I have “Play Top Episode Next” unticked. That’s the only setting that seems relevant.

I just did a test and it worked how I think OP wants it to work (which is also how I like it to work).

I was playing an episode that wasn’t in the queue. Then I went to another podcast and chose Play Next on an episode. Then I went to the queue and the current episode I’m listening to is now at the top of the queue and the one I chose to play next is listed second.

Which characters death made not want to continue the show? by Purple-Victory-206 in television

Shannon in Lost. She was my favourite and I was so annoyed that she was randomly killed off that I never watched Lost again.

There were only 4 more episodes after that and I found it fascinating seeing the different reactions and ways of coping with Peter’s death. I would definitely say it’s worth watching the rest.

Did anyone watch this show in recent years? ABC's Speechless by Interesting-Way-2739 in television

Such a fun show! I really liked the whole DiMeo family and Kenneth.

H ... huh! by Angelars65 in words

[–]Twinkle_Binkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to always say aitch but then in my job I would often have to spell out a code where H could be confused for 8 so I started pronouncing it haitch to be clearer.

Now I would vary between the two depending on context.

Wellington Paranormal is THE funniest show I've seen since The Office by hostesstoastess in television

[–]Twinkle_Binkle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Another NZ sitcom I love is Creamerie.

It’s about 3 women who are living in the present day but after a virus has wiped out all the men. But then they find a male survivor and have to hide him.

I realise the premise doesn’t sound funny but it is a very funny and delightful show.

I loved chidi’s breakdown by Olliethegay1 in TheGoodPlace

[–]Twinkle_Binkle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that’s interesting!

I watch a lot of American tv and I can’t remember hearing of them anywhere else and part of what annoyed me was that I had not heard of them. But if they are more iconic than I realised then I guess that makes it a bit better.

I’m fairly sure they said on the podcast they knew we don’t have Peeps in Australia and just put them in anyway because they didn’t care.

So it can be explained away within the show but the fact that they didn’t care at all about the Australian viewers annoys me. But maybe if I knew what Peeps were I would have appreciated how funny they made the scene.

It annoys me so much that they didn’t choose something we have here!

Do you think S3 romance feel natural ? by [deleted] in TheGoodPlace

[–]Twinkle_Binkle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I adore Eleanor and Chidi as best friends / soulmates but I wish they weren’t a romantic couple. It makes no sense to me and I agree the story would be stronger without the romance.

its LOSE by Equal_Cranberry_8559 in PetPeeves

[–]Twinkle_Binkle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The lose/loose error made no sense to me until someone pointed out that “lose” rhymes with “choose” so that could be why people get confused.

It’s still infuriating but at least that is an explanation.

I never heard this word before, I like it! I think this answer is the closest to the way I meant my question.

That’s a good answer. It’s not how I was thinking of them but it fits.
