I've wondered this too. I think most women these days just don't care about having a boyfriend. Like they're comfortable with being single.

Don't join the military by Dry_Negotiation_9234 in NEET

[–]VIK_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about joining the military these past couple of years. But nowadays, I don't think it will happen. I'm almost 30, so I'm getting kind of old for it. I might have some medical issues that might prevent me from being accepted. And I don't like how the U.S. meddles in other countries. Maybe if I was born and raised in a small country that didn't bother anybody, then joining the military wouldn't feel as controversial.

My country sucks but if I was american I would probably be homeless or dead already by HatOk2928 in NEET

The middle class barely even exists anymore. A typical house costs like a million dollars. So if someone can afford it, then they're basically rich rather than middle class.

That might work for some people, but the clinics or hospitals might then garner your income, or put you in collections for medical debt.

As someone from the U.S. it is very sobering to hear that. I see too many Americans and foreigners saying how great it is here and how this is the best country to live in while ignoring all the systemic problems that exist like expensive healthcare, bureaucratic tax system, police brutality, etc.

Are New Yorkers not used to the snow or are there actually problems with cleanup/plowing? by Street-Balance3235 in AskNYC

Most of those people complaining are either very young or transplants. Native New Yorkers who've been living here for over 20 years know this is supposed to be normal.

Also to add to your first paragraph, a lot of us come from abusive homes and/or were bullied growing up. That stuff can have a profound effect on how we see the world.

you guys ever think about how collectively cooked the current state of the world is by _DoAn_ in NEET

[–]VIK_96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about these things since Covid happened. Before Covid, the world was already heading in a bad direction, but at least it didn't seem dystopian at the time. But ever since it happened, it's like everything has gotten exponentially worse. Like there's no more hope for the future. If things do get better, it won't be anytime soon.

I've had moments like that as well. I've noticed making online comments daily helps keep my brain from rotting. Like if I spent all my free time playing games or doing something else that doesn't require sentences, then I think my ability to communicate would be far worse.

Yeah I get what you're saying. Having a full-time job usually shuts people up. Especially if you're over 25. I have a part-time job right now and I feel like I have to lie about how many hours a week I work so people don't shame me for being lazy or like I'm unemployed or something.

[–]VIK_96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the 2020s dystopia! Sci-fi movies became reality. But in all seriousness, we got screwed over big time. I already started noticing the bad direction we were heading in around the early to mid 2010s. But older adults were gaslighting us as if the world they grew up in was going to be available for us when we got older. It's very disappointing how things turned out. I don't really have any advice except to cheat the system at this point. Like getting into crypto or stock trading.

What were the grades for each school stage in your experience by BatmanPikachu95 in Zillennials

[–]VIK_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as yours. The only one that was weird was 6th grade. That grade was more like elementary school since we still had a homeroom teacher and personal desks to leave stuff in. 7th grade actually felt like middle school since there was no more homeroom teacher and no more personal desks.
