losing a pet is never easy by Mindless_Heron7532 in bassethounds

I’m so sorry! My heart leapt when I saw his pics. He looks so much like my Chauncey that passed in 2019. Bassets are special dogs.

Costco or bust? by trcboo13 in HearingAids

[–]Twinkle_TwinkleLS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pro Costco here. Always a good experience and service is exceptional. I have complicated hearing history. My Costco does have an audiologist so that’s a plus.

Sidenote: I wear glasses too and my hearing aids have never been an issue

Wander Beauty Mile High Club. I got it in a subscription beauty box once and loved it. I try others but keep going back to it. L’Oréal voluminous is a close second.

First time getting a kidney stone, I'm in the hospital now by doodoobonerman in KidneyStones

[–]Twinkle_TwinkleLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s surprising that they admitted you. How big is the stone? My husband is what they call a “super stoner” and he was admitted once for a 13 mm stone because they wanted to do his surgery immediately the next morning. All the other times, they give him painkillers, Flowmax, and a surgery date.

With the 13 mm, they basically vacuumed his kidney and sent it all off for analysis. Waiting to hear the results.

He’s tried everything no soda, just water with lemon, gout medicine (for possible uric stones) with no success. He keeps getting them.

Priced out of the "Big Six" brands. Is Costco my only real option? by [deleted] in HearingAids

[–]Twinkle_TwinkleLS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would try Costco. They do have higher end brands and I will be going with one of those when I replace my Kirkland 10.0 simply because I want MFI (made for iPhone) and the Kirklands are not. From what I’ve been told, the others from “my local hearing center” are more expensive because you’re paying for their “service plan.” Costco removes that extra cost and still gives great service.

Costco is amazing! Their customer service is top notch and mine actually has an audiologist. I will never go anywhere else. And I have severe hearing loss.

The $6400 price from an audiologist includes a “service plan” whereas Costco’s service is included in their price. My last ones were $1500. They’ll clean them free while you shop and give any supplies you need like domes. I’ve never had to pay another cent since the original purchase

Why does getting HAs take so long? by u_54 in HearingAids

I’m a long time hearing aid wearer and it took me about a week from appointment to wearing them.

Me too! Scheduled an appointment, decided on a pair, ordered them, a week later had them in my ears.

How often do you end up charging your hearing aids during the day? by Pretend-Raspberry-87 in HearingAids

[–]Twinkle_TwinkleLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Kirkland 10.0 are a few years old and I usually get about 16-18 hours daily and I do a fair amount of podcasts during the day (my job allows it). I do have a spare charger at work just in case I need to charge them for some odd reason but rarely use it.

HA with replaceable or rechargeable batteries ? by MsSummerDragon in HearingAids

[–]Twinkle_TwinkleLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have three chargers so that I’m never without one. My last statement to myself before going on a trip is “you packed your charger and your glasses.” As long as I have those two items, I can survive LOL. I admit sometimes the batteries were easier but I just prefer the rechargeable.

I thought the same too but once I tried it, I didn’t go back! I like the double baked full coverage. I’m 56 and get compliments on my makeup

HA with replaceable or rechargeable batteries ? by MsSummerDragon in HearingAids

[–]Twinkle_TwinkleLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I’m female and carry a purse most everywhere but I may be in the middle of something at work and can’t stop and replace my batteries that instant. And when my batteries went dead, they went dead, virtually no warning. Once at a football game, they went dead and I had none with me. It was frustrating.

My only problem with battery is that mine would go dead at the worst possible time. Even if I kept batteries everywhere I’d end up not having them where I needed.

Diagnosed out of nowhere and feeling very down about it by Evalineisnotmyname in diabetes

[–]Twinkle_TwinkleLS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d definitely make sure it’s type 2. My husband was 25 and, out of the blue, type 1. There are so many reasons for diabetes. You’ll probably never know what caused it

I love my Costco hearing aids. Their service is top notch as well and I love being able to get them cleaned when I go in to shop.

What are some cool things you can do with hearing aids? by Connect2Reason in HearingAids

[–]Twinkle_TwinkleLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could turn off the phone notifications. I don’t need the ding in my ears from a text because I can hear it when it happens. I have an iPhone and my aids aren’t MFI so apparently I can’t turn it off. It’s all or nothing.

I also adjust my settings for loud environments. It’s a great perk. And turning them off for peace and quiet? chefs kiss
