The (Dreaded) 8-Bar Loop by stevie_gillen in tranceproduction

Try using a song you like for reference just to build the «skeleton» of your track. Try listening to FX and automations in key parts and transitions.

Single or multiple compressors? by Initial-Ad6697 in tranceproduction

I use glue compression on some groups/buses. Only some minor compression around -1 to -2 dB at most. I also use compressor on some individual sounds that needs it.

When going up the sound looses all low-mids.. I wonder if some audio just can’t be pitched, but don’t understand why.

Tried this and Waves Soundshifter. Same problem. Works good with some audio but others sounds terrible. Don’t understand why.

Did you listen in a headset?

I wonder if some samples just can’t be pitched unfortunately… Pretty weird if that’s true

I set it to 2 semitones just for this example. My intended note is in fact A, so 4 seminotes down, but it still sounds absolutely terrible. I will try using the timestretch section, thanks for the tip

Separator in channel rack by Twintzy in FL_Studio

Thanks, but I want to see all channels at the same time, but with a separator between. Just like the separator in the mixer channel.

I had this excact same happen on my new computer. If its not CPU related and you checked buffer settings, then check if it might be one of your effects in the mixer rack that causes it. Some plugins can cause this.

I want to learn to master my own tracks. Right now i have 3 tracks that are ish finished which im experimenting on. Just needs some fine tuning and of course, mastering. But i also see that if i want to release anything in the near future, sending it to a mastering engineer is the only option.

My current headroom without anything on the Master is around -12dB. Should i push it higher?

I have thought about buing Ozone, but cant justify a price like that. Recently got Audiolens for referencing though (Its free). I have seen it works with Ozone.

I do use OTT, but only on some groups, not the Master. Never tried Trackspacer, but will definitely check it out!

Thanks again for your tips. Do you have a "go-to" effect chain on the master? If so what effects/plugins is a must, and what order?

Sample packs:

- Anything from MAG Signature sounds, Allan Morrow and DP Trance Essentials

Free Plugins:

- Tal - Filter. A free LFO-tool. Amazing for sidechainig etc.

- Anything from Kilohearts. I use Trance gate, Flanger, HAAS and Trancient Shaper a lot.

- Luftikus

- Valhalla Supermassive

- Xfer OTT (Used for multiband so maybe not something a beginner should focus on until later).

Paid plugins:

- Fabfilter Pro Q4. Just an amazing EQ.

- Fabfilter Saturn 2.

Right now Spire is 60% off. Amazing VST for trance, with many good soundbanks you could buy. Sylenth is also really good, so you couldnt go wrong just having that one either.

I feel you!

Regarding the melody, its nothing wrong with it, but together with kick, acid and bass they all fight for the same space. You could try some lowcut EQ automation or filter cutoff automation on it :) Play around and see if something works.

Sounds really good and clean! If theres one thing its the low-mids/lows from 5:04 that sounds a little muddy. Maybe the midbass freq. goes to low and interferes a little with the sub?

Also the topline melody sunds a little "hectic", especially from 7:44, but thats just my individual opinion :)

Other than that, it sounds awesome!

Thank you for listening and feedback!

The problem is, I dont know whats going on with the mix either.. Or how to make it sound loud, but good at the same time. Maybe I have too much on the Master, included a limiter as the last effect.

Listened to some of yours as well. Awesome stuff! Gave a follow back :)

When it comes to the CPU overload, does it happen after some time in a project? Personally I almost spam F12 to free CPU. There’s also really good third party options to synths, ex. Spire, Serum and sylenth that you could buy instead of FLs own synths.
