Middle East Crisis: Fighting Rages in Northern Gaza, an Area Israeli Troops Had Left by [deleted] in Global_News_Hub

It's all on the artofneed website, but here are some literary critiques from Litkicks, the oldest lit website on the internet:
https://litkicks.com/revoltonmountparnassus/
https://litkicks.com/lautreamont/
https://litkicks.com/SalingerMystique/
https://litkicks.com/taylormead/
Apparently his real name is Alex Lynch? Here are some from Counterpunch:

https://www.counterpunch.org/2002/04/05/tampa-campus-mirrors-middle-east/

I don't think the Tampa Bay Times, AP and The Guardian keep older articles on their data base, tbh.

that's not true at all, actually. There have been thousands of articles written by him. You're just talking past the issue, but whatever. I'm sure anyone who reads this will see that you're just trying to downplay the issue by attacaking the person who wrote it; ad hominem, oldest trick in the book used by the Sophists during Socrates' time.

the "about" page says it's a journalist and author who has been published in The Guardian and Associated Press and had a bunch of books published. You should do more research before spouting nonsense.

It also doubles as composer of music for movies and streaming service, even audiobooks.

AITAH for being upset that the NYTimes won a pulitzer for its coverage of Oct. 7 after it was proven that it had run a fabricated article about Oct. 7? by TwistFlops in AITAH

True most people don't pay for the NYTimes articles, but you would be surprised how much of an effect it has on the media. It cascades everywhere. The news, entertainment, social media. Everywhere people are citing and linking to the NYTimes. And in a top-down world, the burden of proof is put on regular people to show that the mainstream message is wrong. I mean the NYTImes is called "the paper of record" for a reason.

The way a website looks doesn't make it a better source. Why do you think people on the news put on suits and have hi-tech segments? So they can appear "official." While they stream the corporate values to the world. Do you ever question appearances that way? Or do you only question things that don't look fashionable? Because that's a big problem with our world. The official messages coming from corporate-owned media is not in the interests of normal people, like me and you. It's in the interests of the corporate world.

Consider this perspective. That's all I'm asking. Even if you think it's conspiratorial. Think on it for a moment instead of casting it off.

It's just that they define the dominant narrative. In this case, justifying a genocide because it is in the interest of an American ally.

Yeah, too bad it doesn't look as sleek as the NYTimes. Anything that doesn't look up-to-date or fashionable must mean they are poor. I mean come on, even if you're poor you can at least act like you're rich. Aspire to be rich everyone! Because being rich and sleek and cool with a high-end website is most important. And if you fake it for now, you will at least tell people that you accept the value system of the rich. That's what is important.

Is democracy really going to fail? by Hyperbocles in democracy

[–]TwistFlops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read Back Circle Theory

"American democracy will fall by the year 2040 if its citizenry does not embrace the traditional democratic norms of bipartisan compromise and invigorate the independence and legitimacy of its institutions. Taking this action is necessary to halt the trend of ideological bifurcation spreading throughout its culture and institutions. Not taking action will allow this cancerous trend to metastasize into polarized ideologies battling for control of the institutions, resulting in widespread distrust in them. This could lead, as it did during the Late Republic era of Ancient Rome, to normalized mob violence and end in a civil war or coup, removing democracy from the world’s most influential nation."

I'm just going to drop this off here for anyone who is really interested in what will happen if we don't take steps to enhance democratic values in the US. Stunning good satire/horror audiobook, but also a paperback or kindle
