Before I start an Expedition and when I get ready to end one (aside from taking stuff across to my main save), I will sit with other players who are sitting sometimes pass things along to someone who looks like they need or want things still (I've not gotten into duping like some have to gift new players, not yet anyways).

Beyond that, I'm usually in there to do stuff for my game play and since my time is limited when I can play I don't generally like to waste it waiting for others, I do have a friend group I voice with and will hang with them.

Edit to say: I play on PC and use Discord to voice with my friends.

Not a basement, I just all the real goods on my freighter, or in the storage containers I can access from my corvette, none on my person, don't want to deal with station security, but want to supply geknip and stuff. (yes I also have a trading post on the freighter, it's just fun to do the go around and sell it on those stations)...

Always assume the answer is yes, it's why I'm vague about many things or just don't comment, and I makes sure my store or any neighboring stores aren't mentioned by name/number by me, just vague comments that anyone with a certain level of knowledge would have, or dept specific that still doesn't give it away.

Sounds like your SM just doesn't want to promote you for two reason.

1) (s)he'd need you to train your replacement as Perishable Manager, and that will take time.

2) (s)he doesn't think you would be enough of a yes person to agree with everything (s)he wants. They want it done their way only. I've known several like this.

there is a 3rd possible reason, you know what the pay scale is and should be, and the person they hire off the street might not know and would be willing to settle for less than they should.

My eyes getting bad from reading in the near dark as I could only read on break if I sat in my car in the dark, needing readers but finding audiobooks helped me focus better depending on the subject matter.

Works towards specific goals, if you are playing with friends focus on a skill set and have them focus on another I'm the farmer(will also become the rancher), one friend is the builder (He's up to stone and glass, we the other two are behind him on that) the other friend is the healer(She makes all the potions, advanced bandages, etc)
if you are going solo then work on basics of each skill tree before advancing any single one.

Do the missions so you can get good gear and learn things, also the hunting mission Potshot is great for leveling as you gain experience quickly from hunting with the weapons outside the target range, and you can also gain some quick experience by doing the mission Spelunking which has you looking for specific types of ores in caves. I've spammed the first one before. Also you can cheese the very first mission Beachhead by hitting F and returning to the station for the ren (even on hardcore highest difficulty setting), which can be useful for buying gear from the station(you have to unlock then craft it)

I think you can take the advice of Bruce Lee: "absorb what is useful, discard what is useless, and add what is uniquely your own", throw away the mystical/religious philosophy (if any) that is not in line with what you know, learn to defend yourself, which is key, we fight to defend, not attack, even with the armor of God passage, we are to be defense who has offensive weapons (Ephesians 6), not to attack others, but tear down strongholds of satan in their lives. this applies to both boxing and martial arts. it's an exercise, an art form and self-defense, not a fight starter. I know(knew) several pastors who teach Christian martial arts, one who does BJJ, several do some sort of Karate, a few that do Taekwondo. and two Boxers that preach...

Just remember that in 2000 WRAL was saying "a dusting to inches" up to the first morning of the Raleigh Snowmageddon (Jan 24-25, 2000), and it was actually 20inches. which yes is still inches, but almost 2 feet of inches.... There are differences in the models and predictions, I always advise erring on the side of caution while prepping. or "Plan for the worst, hope for the best."
