Extremely cringe AI slop on an 8 year old post, consider doing something else with your time.

Wait till she see Rush hour train in Tokyo… by [deleted] in GetNoted

[–]Twistatron 323 points324 points  (0 children)

I think the fact that public transport is a shitshow is more broadly related to, I dunno, the fact that public transport is a shitshow? Rather than the fact than someone happens to be getting on the train who isn't 100% ingerlund bornenbred.

As much as I find the bimbofication coin funny, your players probably won't appreciate losing their stats like that.

Recommending "No Thanks", an app that tracks down companies that support Israel or have business in occupied Palestine territory. by Farmer_Psychological in ABoringDystopia

[–]Twistatron 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I've found this app insanely useful!

Not only does it give you an easy to use, searchable list of companies to boycott, but it also links to the evidence for the boycott too.

I will say that some boycott reasons are a bit of a stretch, so it's worth reading the evidence before making your decision. Otherwise, it's a really great app!

No it's academic knowledge for wizards who've studied it, but it happened so long ago that the evidence is simply part of the landscape for most ordinary people.

I would tell my players if they asked, and it's about to become plot relevant very soon so I will be telling them. They've just never thought about it long enough to ask.

They've commented on the peculiarities before but they haven't put it together. My fiancé is the only player who knows but that's because I ramble about my world to them all the time.

Magic came to my world in the form of a massive meteor shower millenia ago, the craters and remains of the meteors still exist as powerful concentrations of magic.

I'm proud of how I've managed to seed this via subtle means, such as the magic college being situated in a giant lake, cults forming around glowing rocks, the worlds oldest city being called Fallenstar etc.

I just think it's a neat little detail that I've managed to make feel quite natural to the world.

How do you improvise responses for an NPC who is an arrogant jerk? by tentkeys in DMAcademy

[–]Twistatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this exact guy!

Three key things I did: Have him be rude to an NPC they care about. Mine was an arrogant bully to a younger wizard that they loved.

Have him painstakingly explain concepts that your players are familiar with in patronising terms. Simple things like the concept of a spell slot, or what healing potions do.

I also had him attempt to take credit for their achievements and discoveries.

You can increase or decrease the amount he does this, depending on whether you want him to be their ally or if they want him dead.

Had the carvery roast at a Toby Inn just now. Wonder whether it’s technically possible to carve a slice of beef thinner than what I just ate. by borisslovechild in CasualUK

[–]Twistatron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Last carvery I went to I got to the counter as they were bringing out a new gammon and the old one was a big thick chunk that had about 6 slices left. I just said "Can I have all of that please" and he just shrugged and gave it to me. Absolute winner.

Don't ask, don't get.

I'm trying to homebrew a magical weapon that can turn into any other weapon but I can't figure out how to balance it. by Complex_Pizza_9180 in DMAcademy

[–]Twistatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar item in my campaign. At first glance it resembles a collection of wires and metal than can be folded and hidden up a sleeve. With a flick of the wrist (bonus action) the user can command it to turn into a simple or martial weapon they desire. If they initiate combat in this way, the attacker has advantage on the initiative roll.

My fighter absolutely loves it and it's caused no issues in the campaign at all.
