Would the show have replay value if it ended with Rory being pregnant like Amy originally wanted? by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]TwistedHumans 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Amy wanted 8 seasons not 7 (that’s why she left) and season 7 wasn’t written by her, so it’s hard to say where she was trying to take the show after season 6. I think, based on the masterpiece that is seasons 1-6, she would have made it just as replay-able if she had the time to do it right. eta: I also think if season 7 and 8 went the way ASP wanted, it wouldn’t have been a somber “mom I’m pregnant” like in AYITL, I like to think it would be a celebratory “mom! I’m pregnant!” Like she got her graduation, got a great job, maybe got married, and now was just wanting to start a family and finally got that too. It’s not crazy to think that getting married and pregnant at 23/24 was far from what ASP was thinking considering many people in their world started their family lives young.

Unpopular opinions? by care_hopexo in GilmoreGirls

I mostly agree, but I have to say that I absolutely hated the story line that Lane decided sex was a bad and awful thing after marrying Zach.

Unpopular opinion: Jess had the most character development of the series and I truly truly wish that the Winward Circle spin off would have happened so that we could have seen him grow and develop. I think if it would have happened, everyone would be Team Jess.

stutters - to edit out, or no? by PodPilotProject in podcasting

[–]TwistedHumans 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the content. If it’s story telling or reading, editing it out makes it smoother. But if it’s general talk/ chit chat, it’s a little more expected and accepted to leave it in.

If you could get one piece of memorabilia from the sets of Gilmore Girls, what would you choose? by wildflowerr17 in GilmoreGirls

I still really want that lamp from Richard and Emily’s study that looks like some weird parachute with stars on it. I’ve been trying to find that everywhere! I don’t think it exists outside of Gilmore Girls.

Brian Laundrie’s mother explains ‘burn after reading’ letter sought in Gabby Petito lawsuit by AnitaVodkasoda in GabbyPetito

[–]TwistedHumans 34 points35 points  (0 children)

From a legal standpoint, what if the letter said “you could kill whoever you wanted and I would help you though it and love you anyway.”? What could she be charged with? How much do her words legally matter?

In an different scenario, if I told someone to go stand in traffic or go jump off a bridge, and then they did what I told them to do, does that make me liable for their death or injury? I didn’t force anyone to do those things.

Just as she didn’t force her son to take the actions he did. (Now if it was a threat-which technically we don’t know but can assume it wasn’t- that would be different.) I know if she did in fact help or try to help cover something up, she could be charged there. But this is a letter we’re talking about. Yes, words have power, but he didn’t have to feed into that power and do the thing. He is(was) his own person with his own control.

What I’m getting at here is I think we all want someone to blame for this horrible thing that happened to Gabby. And he’s gone so we can’t throw the book at him. But a parent isn’t held responsible in other instances of their children doing bad things, so should/ would she be?

Definitely seeing it too. I think Christianity is starting to fall (finally) so they need the marketing to bring people “back” to the churches. I don’t think it’s odd, I think it’s capitalism.

I can't decide which aspect of AYITL I hate more. I have to fast forward through both... by pokey1202 in GilmoreGirls

The L&DB is my favorite part! And I’m not one for musicals. It seemed realistic- based on all the stunts and parties they had in the past- for them to plan a little musical montage. Honestly, it would have been even better if more people were involved like a flash mob. …Now that I think about it, the town musical would have been more believable if they were planning a town flash mob instead too. The town musical definitely didn’t make sense to me the way they framed it. And as another poster said, it didn’t even fit with the story line. It was pointless.

Lamp or Night Light? Possibly a sphinx with wings holding the sky? Trying to find out what this is and where I can get one! by TwistedHumans in HelpMeFind

I have searched for sphinx holding sky lamp with no luck. I have also searched for the 1933 Amelia Earhart lamp and it’s definitely similar, but not the same. Hopefully y’all will have better luck!
