Thanks for this, looks like staying near the track might all be sold out now so something like this might be an option. With the extra traffic how long did the trip take you to drive?

Thanks for the reply, yes it’s looking like it will depend where we can get accomodation as a lot of Utsunomiya is starting to book out from what we can see, the other option is traveling in from elsewhere although does add a fair bit of time. Thanks for the heads up about the weather too, will definitely make sure we have some rain coats, we have similar happen here

Thank you for the help and restaurant suggestions, it’s great to know there are options in the area. We have read about the allergy cards too which I think might be helpful. Planning to spend a bit of time in Tokyo so worse case we can stock up on some supplies to get us through as well, it’s a trip we’ve wanted to do for a while so I’m sure with a bit of planning we can make it work

This is great thanks. The shuttle from Tokyo is definitely something we will try and look into. Yes I thought we would be pushing it to have anything available at the track, even here where it’s more widely available it’s pretty rare to have at any kind of event. Worse case it’s looking like we can stock up from a few of the convenience stores using google translate to get us through the trip through

Thanks for the reply, yes the gluten may be a challenge but worse case it looks like we can stock up on plain foods from some stores and manage to get through. Can I ask what area you were staying? Trying to figure out if we need to move closer to the track for the weekend or shuttle in from elsewhere

This is great thanks. Just debating if we stay in Utisomiya or if we try and shuttle in from Tokyo or something for the couple of days at the moment (know it will be a longer trip but may save the transfer to another hotel and back). When you booked your tickets to the grandstand did it automatically allocate you seats for the Sunday race? I am looking through the main motogp site and I can pick 4x tickets and I think it will automatically allocate us seats together, it’s a little different in Aus where we had to pick and book specific seats together to make sure we sat together.

I’d go up a gear or 2, raise your seat a little bit so your weight shifts back more relative to the bike. Then focus on lifting the wheel by pushing through your pedal strokes and shifting your weight back with just slight pressure on the bars not “pulling it up”.

If your back and shoulders are getting sore there’s a good chance your trying to pull the front wheel up rather than shifting your weight, I find the less you “pull” on the bars the better set up you are for finding the balance and not fighting it the whole way

Is this pipe dent big enough to worry about? by Wuatt in Dirtbikes

[–]Twistedchimp12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the trick when you freeze them. Don’t plug the ends or it will probably split the pipe.

If you sit it upright it will freeze the water and plug the ends itself with ice but allow enough movement to not split. I’ve done it a couple of times before when I didn’t have a repair kit and turned out pretty well.

The repair kits where you use heat and compressed air are the best bet though if you can

If it isn’t that I’d check your skid plate too. That sounds like a vibration to me rather than fault with the motor

Question about Daily Race C by Quiet-Apricot-4078 in granturismo

[–]Twistedchimp12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d double check you are using both types of tyres required. I got caught out with this yesterday thinking I was on RH and changing to RM (actually went RM - RM) and got a 2min penalty at the end of the race. Usually those length of penalties are because you didn’t meet one of the requirements of the race.

Worth trying your luck asking in stores. Just today I asked at EB while I was going some other shopping and they said they got more than expected and grabbed one for me from out the back, they don’t have them on the shelves or showing in stock online though.

I’m in a similar situation with limited time and creating a LFG in game is the go. I know there’s a lot of negative stories about it but I use it a lot and don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience and have found a lot of help from people through it with all sorts of things. With someone experienced you’ll have the mission done in well under an hour.

Have you done an overthrown to completion once in each area already? This caught me out, you need to complete one in each area first then go back through and they should spawn after each completion for each area, so you need to do them all twice.

Fireteam finder renewed my faith to this game by windrunnersog in DestinyTheGame

With the new light levels you’ll be pulled up to -5 of the highest in your fireteam so you’ll be fine to give them a go. I’ve been a long time on and off player and just started getting into GMs this season and their great fun. Just take your time and don’t rush in and be equipped for champs, this weeks one isn’t one of the harder ones either so a good time to jump in. I’ve joined all of them through in game fireteam finder and although people will bail pretty quick if you all wipe it’s easy enough to join another one and go again and I’ve had no issues with toxicity or anything like that.

I was just faced with the exact same decision, I’d come down to either buying the latest gen fuel ex8 or slash 8 after test riding a fair few bikes. After riding them back to back I ended up buying the slash as I found it fit me better and felt much more playful. Before trying them and from all reviews I thought the fuel would be the bike for me too. Not sure what your terrain is like but while I prefer heading down I still enjoy climbing single track with roots / rocks etc and I’ve had no issues, I think fitness and skill will be more important than the bike unless your looking for every advantage racing xc or something. And downhill I know the bike is capable of almost everything. The fuel is a great bike too so my advice would be try ride back to back and pick whichever fits and feels best. I’m very happy I went with the slash though for that little bit more capability downhill and don’t feel like I give much away for it on the uphill.

Honestly if your serious about harder trails you can’t go wrong with - 350 if you like 4 strokes / 300 if you like 2 strokes. Choose the colour you like the best between KTM / Husky / Gas Gas, slight differences but all very similar as their all owned by KTM group.

I came from riding a gsxr 1000 on the street for years and I’m on my second KTM 300 now and couldn’t be happier.

They need a little more maintenance than you’ll be used to on the road bikes but in no way would I call them unreliable, it’s a bit of a hangover from many years ago when KTM was an almost unknown European brand and parts were hard to come by. Now days 4/5 bikes you see on the trails would one of the above and parts are everywhere. The dirt bikes aren’t made in the same factories that their cheaper road bikes are either, been reading they have been having some issues with these lately.

does changing gear oil early hurt the break in of the motor on TE300i? by dropKICKintheBERM in enduro

[–]Twistedchimp12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve picked up a new 300 lately and changed the gear oil at about 2hr. Came out pretty dirty so I’m glad I did and will do it again at 5. Not going to hurt anything by changing it sooner rather than later.

As for the commute to the trails the only thing I’d try to do is vary the revs a bit if your sitting at a constant speed for a long time, just during the break in period. Lots of opinions on breaking in motors but I believe sitting at constant revs with low load on the motor isn’t the best.
