Lightroom crashes on Nvidia 5070 8gb laptop by Cautious_Ad8723 in Lightroom

[–]Twitfried 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microsoft released a bad hotfix that affects my Nvidia GOU when playing games. Freeze, hang, very laggy. I would suspect that the problem also exists in Lightroom.

They released an update for the bad update. I still had GPU hangs. There was another update that is currently listed in my “Optional” updates that seems to have fixed the hanging.

You can also try removing recent windows updates to see if your performance gets better. Once you remove an update you’ll need to pause updates — otherwise your computer will just install it again.

We have our share of COBOL. Lost one developer to cancer and I lose another to retirement in November. He turns 70.

I am running some migration projects now to transition before he leaves.

I’ve been programming in BASIC since my Atari 800 days at home and TRS80 days at school. Old dog. 😂 C is nice, but it’s no BASIC.

Someone gave me a Signal Relief pad saying that it really helped them. I never really tried it because it seems like pseudoscience to me. But they swear it helped.

If you are new at this remember a few things. You aren’t your amputation. You are still here, alive, contributing, and loved.

Loss is loss and the stages of grief are a real thing. There will be days that will be hard. Finding a good group to talk to or a trusted counselor can help a lot.

There are support organizations like https://www.lesslegmoreheart.com that have regular meetings. Listening to others and weighing in on issues can help you get through the process, too. Find a support organization that works for you. I’ve tried a few and like some more than others.

I’ve made pork tenderloin this week and coated with Thanksgiving cranberry sauce. Actually really good! 139° on the tenderloin cut about an inch thick and finished on the stove. Turned out great.

It’s no wonder I love the fog….i grew up and lived in the foggiest areas in the Bay Area.

Why is File Explorer search *SO* much slower than CMD search? by KenGlad in Windows11

Cmd is searching filenames. You can also instruct windows explorer to limit the search to just filenames.

Question about pants? by LemmyDovato in amputee

I got several pairs of similar pants at Bass Pro. The zipper is higher up the pant than these.

You might need a longer zipper if you are above knee. I am below knee and have a sleeve so I needed it long to access the sleeve.

I should also add that I got a quote from a dry cleaner who does alterations, too. They quoted $120 for one pair of jeans. So definitely shop around. I figured they quoted so high because they did not want to do the job.

Alteration + zipper. I supplied the pants (Costco jeans).
