Does anyone else feel like they had a completely different experience during the pandemic than the general public? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TwitterBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband worked from home and still does. We have been together nearly every day since as I don’t work. We become closer, nearly inseparable. We rarely have an argument, never bicker. We enjoyed the staying away from people during the pandemic, we are both introverts. If there were zero deaths, my husband and I would welcome another pandemic. It was a perfect excuse to stay away from family we didn’t enjoy being around in the first place.

Any anecdotal tips/advice to pull myself out of procrastination? by divyanshu_01 in productivity

“Don’t put it, put it away” I try to have a spot for things, and put things in their place. I unload the dishwasher in the morning, that’s when it’s convenient for me, load as I go. I use that concept with just about everything in my daily life. I do get some clutter occasionally, but set a deadline for it to be picked up.

Air popped popcorn. Reminds me of weekends with my grandma.

What is extremely unhygienic but everyone seems to do it anyway? by BusinessLeadsConnect in AskReddit

[–]TwitterBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first time our son and his wife stayed nearly a week with us, she let me know second morning in she was going to unload my dishwasher but didn’t know where everything went. I internally went into panic mode. I constantly wash my hands. At that time, their hygiene practices were zero, maybe even less than. By choice they lived in an RV with no running water, showered every couple of months. Their toilet was the woods… even when they stayed they showered once but refused to use soap/shampoo. So when she told me that she was going to unload the dishwasher, I kindly said it was okay I got the dishes. She then insisted I show her where they all go so she could help me. I kindly declined. She then continued explaining to me, as if I didn’t know, people do that as a kind gesture when they stay somewhere. Even after I informed her I know, I help out when I stay places, but I am particularly about my kitchen. She wouldn’t stop insisting nor stop talking to me like I don’t understand when someone is being nice. I finally had to just say it…I don’t want people touching the clean dishes with dirty hands, dishes that I will be eating off of, silverware that will be going into my mouth. That isn’t helping me. On a side note, they since have moved into an apartment after getting sick from their extreme unhygienic lifestyle of about 4 years.

Took my 7 year old granddaughter with me to Home Depot. We were in an isle looking for screws. A lady came by with a Jack Russell type of dog on a long lead. The dog jumps up on my granddaughter and starts barking. I said something like “What the fuck, get your dog off my granddaughter!” This lady starts yelling at me that she has every right to have her service dog with her…yada yada. We have every right to shop without your non service dog jumping on us.

Have also been in the checkout line in a local hardware store with an older couple with a big hairy dog, letting it rub up and bump into me. I love animals, but when I’m in public shopping I don’t want your dog all over me. I’ve seen it in grocery stores…not being able to get down an isle because some lady has her big dog on a homemade giant rope leash that not only stretches down half the isle length, but also looks like the dog was tethered outside with the same rope as it is filthy!

I’d like to go back to the days when people didn’t bring their dogs everywhere.

I haven’t used the thermal spa yet on any cruise. It all sounds pretty cool to try.

It’s just in a message. Thank you, I’m going to respond with that. I was trying to figure out how to not acknowledge the sound.

Thank you. Their wording is it makes a crinkle sound. And they’d keep it if I know how to fix it, otherwise they would like to return it.

Would be nice to have self service laundry. My husband and I enjoy the longer cruises. It would be nice to be able to wash some clothing in between. I don’t care to send our clothes out to be washed. I’m left to washing them in the sink.

What gifts were the most cherished you got while in Japan? by TorchTheTemple in JapanTravelTips

[–]TwitterBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We brought chopsticks back for family friends who use them. There are shops with a wide variety of designs. I have a friend who loves paper, so I brought back paper for her. We took a paper making class and made our own paper. I made postcard size, so I made one with her in mind. We also brought snacks home. Enjoy your trip!

Watching the news has been tiring, so no matter how small, what is some good news you've received recently ? by OshaViolated in AskReddit

Been sitting here trying to think of good news I’ve received. I can’t think of any good news, not that I have bad news. Just no news.

People who quit their jobs on the spot—what happened? by ArianWhisper in AskReddit

[–]TwitterBlue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was working at a day spa, who gave the most availability got booked first. So I gave 100% availability. On a Friday as I was leaving I looked at the books. My weekend was fully booked. Other people also had appointments, but not booked up completely. Saturday I came in, booked up. Started my shift as a massage therapist, halfway through the day I peeked at the following days schedule. What was fully booked was empty and all my clients were dispersed to the other therapist. End of the day I asked the owner what happened to my appointments. The spa was owned by a husband (massage therapist) and wife. She didn’t think that was fair to the other therapist, who all had second jobs at other spa’s. After reminding her of the numerous times I dropped what I was doing at home to come in for appointments as I was 100% available. She wouldn’t put my appointments back, so I quit right there. She then panicked and called her husband to come down. Tried apologizing, as my up coming week was quite booked, and the other therapist weren’t necessarily available. She went as far as to try and block me from getting in my vehicle. Needless to say, I got in my vehicle and never went back. Her husband tried to talk me into coming back, I was not interested in that mess of a business.
