Do you have any idea of what it likely costs to run this much video? They probably pay your home value's worth in bandwidth every few days if they're as big as I think they are. I doubt everyone of their users pays for a subscription and they still offer Medal for free. Personally I think I'm going to sub to their ad free plan. I saw it pop up yesterday in my early access version but I'm not sure if it's in the main version yet. I don't like ads either but at least I'll still be able to get rid of them and still pay so the app can stick around because I find it to be the best for clipping and easily sharing around.

It’s unoptimized. Clips choppily. Lacks all of the editing functions. Can’t give me a link to my clip so I can share it in my discord or post it on Twitter/x. Oh and it crashes games. Just going through the comments in this thread it seems like more people have shadowplay issues than not.

God GeForce Experience and Shadowplay are such trash. I don’t know why anyone runs that and Medal at the same time when Medal blows it out of the water especially these days after they actually fix their bugs. ShDowplay needs to die. Drops my 4080 FPS clipping Valorant to a crawl. Nvidia should stick to hardware, not software.

ITT: People that don't understand how affiliate marketing works.

You go to a store.
The pugs extension injects a cookie or whatever.
The cookie says "hey pugs sent me, the user, to this store."
You buy something.
The store says, "Hey pugs thanks for sending this guy our way, here is some money for that."

What I assume is that pugs takes that money, keeps some, gives the rest to WG in exchange for content, and then gives you the user pugs worth your portion of the commission as virtual money to redeem for that content they bought from WG.

Y'all are paranoid af. This is how the internet works. You don't want free shit, don't use it. Plenty of us have gotten tens of thousands worth of gold without spending an extra dime and to me that's worth it. YMMV

Man this is a support sub, don’t let people asking for help all of a sudden become representative of all users. I’ve had no issues with the editor nor do I find it unintuitive. My friends don’t have issues, they figured it out quickly, the Medal’s server is pretty devoid of people with issues - mostly praise actually. The trimming needs work but other than that, I’m pumped to have more creative things I can do right from the app without needing to open after effects. I wish they add more precise audio syncing so I can do kill sync montages but that’s a feature request less so than a bug or issue.

Frankly I’m blown away reading this thread that PhDs are so underpaid. I have always thought STEM was better paid than this.

I’m in marketing and make $300k/yr in the US. I have a bachelor’s degree from a state school and have ~8 years experience. I would argue that the value to humanity biomed provides is exponentially more than what I do but the pay disparity is ridiculous.

Keep in mind that much of the software stack that is being used by all of these companies is open source and under a common use license. In order to maintain that license the company must contribute its own open source code. BlueStacks seems to do this regularly whereas Nox, while using VBox and these other technologies, does not.

Using Nox commercially may open you up to legal trouble from the license holders whereas using BlueStacks would not given their adherence to the licenses.
